Saggy belly

McPeppaMcYumPig · 03/08/2018 12:46

I had a baby 9 months ago now and my tummy has still hardly shrunk ,
I am back into my old clothes and was a few months after birth but I cannot get rid of my belly. I am in quite a strict diet at the moment anyway due to other health concerns but I literally still look pregnant.
Has anyone got any advice or home workouts I can do to help ?

You mean it is firm and/or distended (as if being pushed out from the inside); or it is saggy/flabby/hanging over skin?

If the former, then I am not sure, but the latter could unfortunately be stretched skin which can't/won't just pop back. Do you have stretchmarks there?

Hi it is firm and like a bulge !
No stretch marks there,
Always feel a bit swollen like there's pressure on my tummy x

Have you checked for diastasis recti? Look it up on the NHS website.

Have you checked to see if you have diastasis recti? (Where the ab muscles haven't come back together properly after separation during pregnancy).

I can't do links as I'm on my phone, but I'd highly recommend Olivia Cagle - she is an enthusiastic American and a bit too 'I love Jesus!' for some people, but she's helped me to heal my diastasis, and it was wide!

She has paid for programmes, but if you google you should find some free info, and she often posts free challenges and videos on Instagram.

Thanks everyone

If diastasis recti is at significant level you can get referred to a specialist on the NHS, I think.

That sounds very much like my tummy, I'm now a year after having dd & I have diasasis reci & I'm now getting physio for it after going to my gp & being referred.
