Runners - what headphones do you use for listening to music?

I'm trying to get my runner ni mojo back and I think music might help. I never listen to music when I run because I've never found it confortable headphones, what do you recommend?

Aftershokz wireless bone-conducting ones (Trekz Titanium) because I like/need to hear the world around me too.

Sennheiser all the time. Best sound ever (for my budget) otherwise I'd be splashing out on Bose or something equally ridiculous.

I've had sports band ones but I found it a bit awkward so have over ear earbud ones

Tell me more Auntie. I went to Runners Need to have a look at them, they had some I could try for size but didnt have any connected for sound. I really wanted to listen to them. I usually run with in ear headphones.

Thanks! The price of these things!! I wouldn't want to pay over £100, to be honest. Which exact model is te best for this budget?

I have Trekz Titanium too. So expensive but worth every penny - they don't move or fall out, no cables, i can hear traffic and other things around me (i run on country lanes so it's important) and you can use them in races too, where standard headphones are often not allowed. The only downside is that you have to remember to charge them from time to time. I couldn't use any other headphones now.

I've got jbl Everest 100 Bluetooth in ear headphones. DH got them for my birthday so not sure on exact cost but certainly under £100.

What about the Aftershok Bluez S2, do any of you use them? They are much cheaper than the Trekz Titanium, is the price difference worth it?

I just got some JBL endurance run headphones. They are cheap and haven't fallen out yet.

Thanks! I think I prefer bone conduction than in-ear headphones, because I cycle quite a lot in town and this makes them much safer.

Update - I've bought some Afterskokz Trekz Titanium! I paid £71 for them which seems a lot but it's a good deal for them. Now I MUST use them!

I'm terrible with technology though, I just hope I'll manage to get them to work properly...

Let us know how you get on with them Nigella. Is the sound good? I know the quality won't be quite the same as normal headphonesbut can you get a decent volume through them - I like my music quite loud and pumping when I'm running to drown out my heavy breathing

AuntieStella · 04/07/2018 21:25

Just think of it as cheaper than Apple Air Pods (or whatever those (easily loseable little thingies are called).

Actually, I think they've come down in price since I got mine. My DMum gave me money for my birthday with strict instructions to spend it on myself. One of my best ever presents!

Yes, you can get a decent volume through them - the trick is to get them to 'sit' right - they should do that anyhow, but if they don't d othat on your head then you can fiddle with the angle by resting it on a ponytail, or in winter you could use a buff to hold them in place (visor in summer?)

One drawback is that I have never found a pair of sunglasses that are comfy/feel secure to wear at the same time.
