Holiday in 9 weeks - problem areas

Hi.

I am off on holiday in 9 weeks! Woop! I've started changing my diet to more healthier food choices which I can continue as a lifestyle change etc rather than a fad diet.
What I need help with is exercise. I'm a mum of 2 and had a c section with my youngest 2 years ago. This has left me with an awful overhanging belly area. I find the area to still be quite tender at times and I've found doing sit ups etc can make it quite uncomfortable and feel quite tight and pulling inside. What are the best options to try and sort this area out without sit ups?

Also my thighs and arms could do with some work too so any advice there?

I'm going to be super busy with work over the next few months and as such will be doing lots of over tome and weekend work so chances of getting to the gym are pretty slim. I have an exercise bike, stepper, hand weights, resistance bands and a vibration plate st home to use. I can't really afford to buy any more equipment unless it's cheapish (under £50).

Can anyone recommend a suitable excercise program from the above I can do at home. Ideally need to lose a stone or 2 but a stone I think is more achievable so guess I'm looking for fat loss and toning.

Thanks Smile

You could use your equipment to do some HIIT - I think the Body Coach could have advice on that (I'm sure I've seen videos of his for HIIT on the treadmill, so I'm sure you could adapt to bike).

Look up Fitness Blender for weights and body weights exercises. They also have payable programmes if you'd prefer it to be more structured.

Basically you need to push yourself, I find it quite hard to do that TBH - I see a PT which has shown me how hard I can work and that I can do a little more even when I f to l like I'm done. That's helped me with my home training.

Maybe a boot camp or circuits class?

On recommendation from my sister i do Hasfit on you tube with coach kozak! Tonnes of videos ranging from 10 minute beginner to 60 min advanced, never the same exercise twice, a lot of squats, planks etc and he has videos with and without weights and specific cardio/weights/toning. Highly recommend the 35 min for people who get bored easily....even my feet were sweating! Am 2 weeks in and im starting to like what i see in the mirror, clothes are sitting well on me. For info, i have had 4 sections and have a dreadful overhang so am also low carbing/low sugar, not dieting but making healthier choices!

I've looked at fitness blender, they seem to favour star jumps in a lot of their videos - I have huge boobs, star jumps are just a no for me they are so uncomfortable. Maybe I'll have another look for some without those in the routines. I'll take a look at the body coach thank you :-)

Thanks Philippa I'll take a look at hasfit. That sounds promising that your already noticing a difference! Well done! :-)

I'm not very disciplined either but just tried on all my old bikinis and swimsuits and yuk! The ones that do fit look awful! Hoping that's now spurred me on as I really don't want to have to buy new ones!

Thanks guys x

As you say you are still feeling tender, even though it is two years on, I think you really should go and see a physio for assessment.

Actually changing your diet will be 80% more effective than just exercising you can’t out train a bad diet.

Have you checked for diastasis recti (separation of the stomach muscles)? This causes the belly overhang. If you have this then please don't try crunches etc as you'll make it worse.

I really recommend MUTU system to fix it. It's quite expensive but very effective and worthwhile in my option.
