How much to spend on a treadmill and rower for home use?

Hi all, I'm considering investing in a treadmill and rowing machine for home. I run 5k at the gym 2-3 times a week, hopefully going to build up to 10k, max 3 times a week. Absolutely no plans for marathon training or anything like that! Rowing would be maybe 30 mins at a time 2-3 times a week. So regular use but nothing particularly heavy

How much should I be looking at spending for decent machines?

Don't know about a rower, but when looking for a treadmill, I asked my PT for advice. His suggestion was to pay as much as you can afford as ones sub £509 were more likely to have motors that would burn out sooner. We also needed a long belt as DH is 6'4" with a long running stride and a lot of home use machines were just too short.

In the end we bought a (lightly) used one on EBay for about £500 that was still retailing in JL for approx £1k. It's been brilliant. Ours is a Nordik Trak.

Is it noisy Carrie?

I had a Nordic trac that cost just under £600 3 years ago...then had to sell it when I moved. The woman who bought it liked the fact it went a good speed (decent motor) and had a decent size deck, which many ones for home use lack eg too narrow. I sold mine on the Facebook page running gear buy and sell.

Ps woman had done the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc and did Iron Man triathlons, so was a serious runner!

Rowers, Concept 2 is the best on the market I think. I've got one and love it. They also do a 30 day buy back or something. I would buy from them rather than another store.
Treadmills I never understand what is wrong with outside, sorry no help.

I don't really have the space for a treadmill but did have my eye on this on; EzRun

I've had two Nordictrack treadmills. Just bought a second hand one for £300. Generally, they are around £600-£1k for a new one, but they are robust, their motors are between a domestic and commercial and have good functionality/reliability. I'd always opt for one of these as always been impressed. I hill walk on it for around an hour 4 times a week and have noticed the difference in my legs.

Brassbrass, yes quite noisy, we've got it in the garage though. I'd say it's a similar noise level to a running machine in the gym.
