What do you wear to stop vpl when wearing gym leggings?

well i think the issue isnt with the nickers being visible but with how rucked up they get! Thats why I wear thongs and not larger pants... because i find larger pants under leggings actually get more uncomfortable because the material rides up under the leggings.
I suppose it depends on your body shape really.

Fairylea · 13/05/2018 12:24

I wear big old 100% cotton pants from Sainsbury’s. Comfy! I don’t care at all about VPL. I look a sweaty mess anyway, what’s a knicker line?!

Branleuse · 13/05/2018 12:42

I wonder why it is seen as worse for people to see a knicker line than to see a bra line or visible strap

I remember when vpl first became "a thing"
stupid then, still stupid now

AnnieAnoniMouser · 13/05/2018 12:51

I wear Matalan black Big Pants under leggings so IF my leggings go ‘see through’ no one would notice. VPL isn’t something I worry about with leggings, I’d rather be sure no one has to endure seeing my bum.

However, when I was still a slim young thing with a pert wee arse (a long time ago!) who cared about that kind of thing (VPL) I wore leggings with cotton gussets & nowt else.

averylongtimeasSpartacus · 13/05/2018 12:55

Fgs, surely at the gym you are there to exercise not take part in a fashion parade? No one cares about your vpl. The only question you should ask is: can I exercise comfortably in this?

parklives · 13/05/2018 12:58

Is this one of those pervert threads? Confused

TheNoseyProject · 13/05/2018 13:01

Never crosses my mind. You’re there to work out. Vpl does not matter.

crayoladreamz · 14/05/2018 12:16

This has genuinely never crossed my mind before! Do not GAF!

TheRagingGirl · 14/05/2018 13:44

If you're going to the gym and noticing other people underpants YOU ARE NOT WORKING HARD ENOUGH

Who gives a flying f?

Astrabees · 15/05/2018 10:04

What Fairylea said, my biggest most comfy pants. What is this big issue with VPL? The idea of most and sweaty lycra is not nice, so I won't be going knickerless under any circumstances.

wizzywig · 15/05/2018 13:39

I have bought 3 pairs of pants, different styles and different sizes. Test 1 is occuring tonight. Im not a pant troll!

I had this very same discussion with teen dd who is 15 the other day. We were off to gym, she told me ... "Mum, you have serious vpl happening there"...

I replied along the lines of I don't really care as who ever want to be looking at my bum during pilates, is just brave. And the knickers were white, and when I bent down the leggings were see through. Apparently.

I still wore them.

KnownUnknowns · 15/05/2018 17:48

I don't go to the gym in my gym leggings - I run in them, do dance classes in them. And vpl makes my arse look hideous in leggings, so it's commando for me, more comfortable than a thong - because I do give a shit what my arse looks like in public.

BlueJava · 15/05/2018 18:04

Look at Runderwear's Anti-VPL Hipster.

Strongbeatsskinny · 15/05/2018 21:58

All my gym shorts/ leggings are squat proof I do the stretch test before purchasing. I’ll go commando or wear nike thongs I really don’t care in the gym I’m there to train get hot sweaty and out of breath. Gym wear is generally drenched by the time I’ve finished lifting/ cardio

pangolina · 17/05/2018 20:28

Lace thongs from primark. Maybe a size bigger than normal

Loopytiles · 21/05/2018 20:58

I just go with vpl but have noticed that most others in my class don’t have vpl, but I wouldn’t bring up pants in RL!

Pippioddstocking · 22/05/2018 00:57

Spin class wearing no pants !!! Good grief , I am never sitting on a gym spin bike again. That is revolting . ( sorry can't remember the name of the poster who said they went knickerless in spin)

Kate010377 · 30/05/2018 19:46

I agree it's down to personal preference and as long as you wipe down the equipment afterwards what's the problem.
