Fat thighs after weightloss, help

I appreciate the functionality of my legs, they are wonderful at getting me from A to B but they look terrible at the moment from knees up.

I am 52 and I have always had largish legs and was 12 stone 9 pounds 16 months ago. I have lost 30 pounds by eating less and walking at least 4 miles a day. I feel great and I have shrunk all over, including my legs, and I love my slim ankles and calves now. However something weird is happening with my thighs, they seem fatter and with less tone than when I was larger. The cellulite is rampant and they wobble like jelly. I have spent the morning trying on thin summer trousers, and you can see the flab and the wobble through them, so obviously no purchases made.

I have an exercise contraption called Leg Magic which I have dusted on and have been doing every day for 2 weeks. That certainly makes them feel stronger and I intend to do this everyday but what else can I do? I am not interested in liposuction. Exercise wise I have to avoid lunges due to dodgy knees.

Has anybody else slimmed down their thighs/gained muscle tone. How did you do it?

Unfortunately, everyone has a body part that holds on to fat. It's a matter of "first on, last off." The hips and thighs are common trouble spots for women (men are more likely to hold it on the belly).

Exercise doesn't spot reduce. If anything, if you were to do heavy squats and lunges, without dieting so as to create a calorie deficit, you'd actually just end up with bigger thighs.

Like it or not, the only way you can lose the jiggle is to lose more fat.

Strength training does help with weight loss overall - but you can't target an area of fat. It doesn't work that way.

Yes, I plan on losing at least another stone by doing what I have been doing for the last 16 months. But my legs look worse than when I started! Thinner but flabbier if that makes sense

Late to the party, but is it loose skin?

I have always had fat legs. I blame it on my Welshness! Even at 7 stone I had fat legs - or at least out-of-proportion legs. Many generations of standing astride pulling up manglewurzels, I fear.

Lipoedema

Probably. Diet Resistant fat on legs.
