Anyone do early morning classes?

Hello,
Am really struggling to get to usual evening gym classes at the moment. Now oldest DC is back at school with homework and reading etc and youngest as clingy as ever it's stressing me out going.
(Dh does try to help but they both want me and tbh I have decided just to go with it as they are only little for a short time etc)
An thinking of joining a gym with 6am classes. Plan being I get up early and go, come home and shower before they wake up, or even if not, they are quite amenable to DH in the mornings so he often does breakfast whilst I shower.
Anyway, does anyone else do this? Any tips? Or things I might not have considered?

I do this it's hard but sometimes it's the only way. I usually organise the kids things the nights before that way I don't need to faff about like when I get back from the gym and I make sure I go to bed early and don't sit their procrastinating the night before when the kids are in bed

I did a circuits class at 630 this am. I find I can only do 45 mins max and it has to be something fast and super energetic, otherwise I lose the will to live!

I often have thoughts about doing an early morning class but when it comes to actually getting out of bed in the middle of the night in the morning I never actually manage it!

Thanks. Think I'll give it a try for a couple of classes and see before I change membership etc.

I have to be at work for 8am, I go at 6:30 4 times a week and do weight training mostly with a little cardio/boxing sometimes. Sometimes do an early morning boot camp or body blast class. I find it gets it out the way first thing and then once work is done my evening is my own! Plus if I've had shite day st work last thing I can be bothered to do is drag myself to gym!
Means I have to have my gym packed ready with make up bag, toilitrees, work clothes etc to shower and get ready at gym but as long as your organised I find it better. Suits me anyway Smile

But I don't have kids to organise too (just overgrown man-child) so it does make it a lot easier for me I admit!

I've toyed with the idea of getting up for 7am classes at my gym. Do you have breakfast before you go or wait until you've finished?

I get up and do 6:30 classes.
To be honest I wander there zombie like and eat after.

I did a couple of 6.30am classes before work at 8 and to be honest it wiped me out for most of the day, that was before kids and any major responsibility. God knows what I'd be like now!!!!!

I do all my running very early. I find it much easier to be motivated first thing - I would never be bothered in the evening. Once kids are in bed I'm exhausted! Lay your kit out ready, getting out of bed is the hardest bit. Once you've done that it's all easy (ish!)

I have done a few recently, go to bed early, get everything you can ready the night before. Take a banana.

I used to do a lot of pre-sunrise swimming (think 5:30/6am) in Uni. What helped was:

  1. Forcing myself to do it for the first 2 weeks no matter what. Slept for only about 3 hours and feel like trash? Too bad it's time to go for a swim. Thinking of sleeping in for a little while since I've got a long day ahead? Tough luck swimming time. It stops being a chore once your body clock syncs up with this new early morning routine.
  1. Packing all my things the night before. This way, I can just wake up, brush my teeth, wash my face, and go.
  1. Finding a buddy in my class who's a regular and who was at the same fitness level and had the same fitness goals as me. For me, it was a lot easier to stay motivated once I had someone I could compare myself/compete with. Of course, that doesn't work for everyone - it all depends on where you can draw motivation from.
  1. Not procrastinating. "I'll start doing this on X date" doesn't work because more often than naught X becomes Y which then becomes Z. Find the nearest available date and sign up for that. Follow point 1.
