Can an unfit, overweight, soon to be 35yo learn to run?

So, prompted by my half life crisis thread, I've decided I'd like to challenge myself and see if I can learn to run a 5k.

I'm asthmatic, a few stones overwight, uncoordinated and was always last to be picked at school Grin

Is it possible to emerge in six months as a lithe, toned, fit and energetic runner? Or should I think again Grin

I did week 3 day 2 of couch to 10K this morning. Feeling quite pleased as I was on week 2 day 2 on Monday so I've powered through. Really hoping I can stick to this to make up the time.

Fab well done howaboutthisone.. don't worry about rushing through to make up time though - just do it as and when you can. You have all the rest of your life to do more and more so don't beat yourself up if you have to miss or delay a bit of training now Flowers

Thank you Trevor! I went to the gym again this morning and the second time of doing the same run felt a little easier. One more day of doing that then the next run seems to ramp up. But it felt good not to struggle as much today so I'm going to stick at it.
