Fitbit or Leaf?

Morning all

I'm want to buy a fitness tracker but am torn between the Fitbit and the Leaf (which looks much nicer!). I want to track sleep, steps, etc and they both look like they do that, so wanted to ask for personal experiences/recommendations of both, to see how they work out in real life! Would anyone mind sharing their experiences? Thanks in advance!

Morning!

I have a leaf and my daughter has a Fitbit (I had Jawbone's previously).

I think my lead is quite generous with the steps it says I have done and it doesn't always catch my sleep quite right but it is fab to look at and it doesn't need charging - ever. Which is so much better than all the other devices.

The Fitbit needs a lot of charging so my daughter misses lots of steps etc due to that but she likes that she can see her steps on the screen.

I have a Fitbit One. I bought a Leaf to replace it as they're so much prettier, and I liked the idea of the inactivity alarm. But I found the Leaf absolutely rubbish. It barely tracked any of my steps and the inactivity alarm would go off while I was walking or on my exercise bike Hmm so I sent it back for a refund.

I like my Fitbit. It seems to track fairly accurately. It is a clip one rather than a wristband - I don't really like the look of the wrist ones and I'd also read about them being less accurate because of arm movements. I knit a lot so wouldn't want that counted as steps Grin

Mine needs charging maybe once a week and it doesn't take that long to charge. I just plug it in while I get ready for bed so I don't really miss any steps and it is ready when I want to go to sleep.

Thanks WhatwouldLeslieKnopeDo - just what I was worried about. Damn, the Leaf is so pretty though!

Do you definitely want a Fitbit if not the Leaf? I also looked at the little clip on Jawbone, which is more attractive but doesn't have a display. And if you wouldn't mind a wristband one there are some really nice bracelet ones that don't really look like trackers at all.

If it's any consolation the Leaf wasn't quite as pretty in real life. I had the rose gold one. It was a bit too chunky really, though I tend to wear quite delicate jewellery so depends on your style.

I have a Fitbit Blaze. I love it! Only needs about 15mins charging every few days. Tracks steps, exercise, heart rate and sleep. Picks up my test messages, vibrates to remind me to move. I have a selection of straps to change the look.

The Leaf looks a bit too chunky for my tastes, but presumably newer versions will slim down.

I'm really popping on to comment about how pleasantly astonished I am with my cheap Letscom (£22.59 from Amazon ATM). I now wear it instead of a watch most days (date and time is the default screen).

My Fitbit flex broke for the third time about 6 months ago (conveniently out of warranty) and I hesitated about Smartwatches etc. Sporty DD(9) is really keen to get one, so I bought this to try out for size etc thinking I would keep it if it was too big (her wrists are tiny - too big for her).

5 days in I am still on the same charge (took about an hour in any old USB slot). Steps seem pretty accurate (or at least about the same as my old Fitbit..have school run to compare). Sleep function marginally less good. Not too sure about heart rate accuracy. Only downer is that it is hard to read in bright light. I suppose that is the price to pay for a really good battery life.
