is soul destroying!

has any one learnt to love exercise? do get me wrong I did love going to the gym on 'good' days yet days I wanted to do nothing but chill felt like torture at the gym!
been exercising since my first ds back in 2001. I feel like i've spent most of my adult life exercising. of course not solidly, i had breaks, 2 other pregnancies. but when I stop or lag the muscles sag, I gain weight. constantly feel I've got to watch my food.
its exhausting, its a constant thought. id love to relax not thinking i've got X,Y or Z exercise to do this week and trying to work it into my days

am I the only one? I do hope there's other people who feel the same!
im just having a rant whilst watching the kids tuck into a chocolate bar.

wish I felt like that. what exercises do you do? I want to enjoy exercise as I know it should be a part of leading a healthy life. but the thought of it makes me feel tired before moving! to be fair I have mental health issues so my mind is pretty much pre-occupied and drained most the time.

My favourite is swimming but logistically it's hard to fit it in so I don't do it often (childcare, pool times etc and it's extortionate).

Long walks, jogging, fitness DVDs (30 day shred is only 20 mins and effective), anything I can fit in with the kids around: 10 mins of rope skipping while we are all in the garden, 15 mins of kicking a ball or playing basketball while they play on the swings in the park, I even do press ups or lift my weights while they watch TV. Even 5 mins makes me feel good and nothing is as effective for my stress / anxiety. It can be your happy place, something that you do for yourself and your wellbeing only.

Remember by exercising you are being a good role model to your kids!

I've always done exercise favouring dance/ yoga type movement in the past, but have been surprised at how deeply I've fallen in love with running in recent years. I find it satisfyingly goal orientated and easy to measure progress. I do a few races a year, so have a longer term incentive to drag myself out if I'm not greatly in the mood, or the weather's grim.

I feel better after an exercise session. If I don't do enough, I get very twitchy and begin to struggle to sleep. I seem to need to burn energy up or it will sneak out of me anyway.

ive been speaking to someone today about going running together. so its a start Smile I done a 30min power walk on my treadmill and 10min run which was a must as dd and I went for a picnic in the park. the healthy eating was on pause!
I do feel a abit better after exercise, its the motivation to start that's hard, I know when the summer goes and im layered up in clothes I'll even more lazy. need a boot up the tush.
