Completed 5k and now trying to reach 10k. Anyone else?

I've really enjoyed C25k and am now managing 5k in just under 30mins. Now I am looking forward to the next challenge and I am trying to reach 10k in 1hour. I live in a hilly town and I am struggling to fit in more than 2 runs a week so it is still (enjoyably) hard going.

I'd love to hear from other people and your challenges and goals.

Hi everyone - sorry for the radio silence. I caught the toddler's cold and I have been feeling rubbish for a week and half.

I went for a run last night - decided to just do 5k slowly to get back into it and it fine. Absolutely fine, I felt like I could have carried on but I was soaking wet and back at the hone so running further seemed a bit silly. I think I am going to try 7km on Friday though so fingers crossed!

Sounds like everyone else is doing really too. I've never entered a race - aren't they a bit scary?

Did week 12 day 1 on the zen labs app this evening. Think the evening is my favourite time of the day to run - less traffic and I have chance to reflect on my day.

30 minutes 17 seconds for my 3 miles this evening - that pesky 17 seconds!
Still, nearly there, maybe next week.
I was trying to pace myself a bit so I didn't give up towards the end but I felt like my feet were insisting on going faster.

That's a good pace countess (better than me anyhow). I can't seem to get under 33 mins for a 5k run. My legs just CANT go any faster!

5k parkrun yesterday, will do 6.5 on Monday, 5 on weds or Thursday then parkrun again Saturday. That's the plan anyway.

Ha, I think I've got into the habit of assuming that if I can do it, it can't be very good, but actually looking at the spread of times in Parkruns these are perfectly standard speeds and would put us somewhere about the middle of the pack. I wonder why I was so much slower than everyone else at school.
(Still not going to do the mums' race at Sports Day though.)

Extended to 6.5k today, the longest I've gone. T'was knackering, but I did it. I was pleased that I kept the same pace as my 5k.
Will do another 5k this week and a 2.5 'speed' (ha ha) session.

Well done! That's a lovely big chunk added. Very impressed that you managed to keep up your usual pace Smile
