twostonetolose · 11/05/2016 10:40

I had a baby in january and as my name suggests I am quite overweight. I am making a commitment to myself to go from frumpy mummy to slightly less frumpy and I was wondering if anyone wants to join me.

I am going to do half an hour of exercise everyday... I am on day 5 so far and am slightly running out of enthusiasm... please give me the kick up the bum I need!!

Day 1 c25k w1d1
Day 2 c25k w1d2
Day 3 c25k w1d3
Day 4 jessica smith kickboxing
Day 5 jessica smith hiit.

Let's do this!!!

Have done 30 mins table tennis. Needed to keep it low key as I am sporting a minor calf injury from my exercise on Friday.

Sunseed · 15/05/2016 21:32

Table tennis sounds fun! I went for a walk this afternoon which took about an hour but was at rather slow pace as had DS3 with me.

Spam88 · 15/05/2016 22:16

It does seem like I will just have to get up early...that's the long-term plan for fitting in my exercise anyway because it's so disruptive to my evening at the moment. But I absolutely hate waking up any earlier than I need to so it's yet to happen lol. Thank you all for the suggestions :)

Wildernesstips · 16/05/2016 20:59

Well, I failed to do any exercise today and I'm not about to start tonight! Back to it tomorrow.

PrimalLass · 16/05/2016 21:53

Me too. Plans were scuppered.

Spam88 · 16/05/2016 23:42

I did level 2 of the 30 Day Shred for the first time tonight. I thought it wasn't too bad...and then there were the plank jacks followed by the plank twists (disclaimer: I did the easy version of both). Jillian Michaels is a twisted individual.

Sunseed · 17/05/2016 06:30

I might Shred today as I am going to have to miss my Circuits class tonight. I haven't done it for ages so will be level 1. I'm calling yesterday a rest day as didn't do any exercise.

twostonetolose · 17/05/2016 07:47

Ah, I missed sunday too and was really annoyed with myself!!! I am such an all or nothing person. Yesterday I did some yoga as my husband is on long days this week so mornings and evenings are tricky!!! Never mind.

Right, back on it this week. Spent a long weekend in Bruges and did lots of walking including the steep walk to the top of the Belfort, so definitely got at least 30 mins over the last three days.

Let's try to keep each other motivated!

steppingout · 23/05/2016 10:54

I don't know if you've come across the NHS Strength and Flexibility program? It's a series of podcasts designed to complement the C25K training - you do C25K one day, then Strength and Flex the next with a days full rest each week. It means you're still doing something each day, but giving your body a chance to recover. It's mostly equipment free, and I've generally been able to improvise around the house if I don't want to head out to the park.

IrisBlue15 · 23/05/2016 11:12

Can I join too? I've got almost 2 stone to lose and It just seems a bit daunting with a 3month old baby!
We get out and walk most afternoons, and last week I started going back to the gym for half an hour but only twice.

Spam88 · 23/05/2016 15:16

SteppingOut I'll have to have a look at that strength and flexibility program, I haven't heard of it before.

IrisBlue, sounds like you're doing well :)

I didn't manage to get up early on Wednesday (surprise surprise), but this is what I've done since I last checked in:

Wednesday - 2x15 min walk, 15 min yoga
Thursday - 30 Day Shred Level 2
Friday - Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown Level 1
Saturday - 30DS level 2
Sunday - 30DS level 2

Sunseed · 23/05/2016 16:52

I'm back on it too this week. Last week was a bit of a write-off in the end. I was feeling rather negative generally and it's silly because I know that being active should have helped lift the gloom but I kept making excuses. Never mind, I had a good 7km run yesterday and then swimming with DS2 in the afternoon.

Wildernesstips · 23/05/2016 21:36

Thanks for the tip on Strength & Flex. Spent all day doing various DIY jobs so haven't managed after all, but at least they were active jobs! Well done everyone on keeping going.

Sunseed · 24/05/2016 22:16

30 minutes cutting grass with a mower with a mind of its own this afternoon and just come in from a Circuits session. I may be a bit sore tomorrow!

How is everyone else doing this week?

Spam88 · 24/05/2016 23:11

I did Shred and an hour of yoga tonight and last night. I'm going to be so sore tomorrow...going to have a rest day! Will still get a bit of walking in so should still manage my 30 minutes.

Wildernesstips · 29/05/2016 12:18

I am really struggling with this on weekdays. I think I need to diarise it!

Yesterday: approx 1 hour gardening, digging etc.
Today: 30 mins Wii Personal Trainer.

How has your week been?

Spam88 · 29/05/2016 12:49

Didn't manage to get much walking in in the end because the in-laws very kindly have me lifts to and from my meeting venue, but I've done the following:

Wed - 2x15 min walk
Thu - ate a lot of cake
Fri - 30DS Level 2 & 1 hr yoga
Sat - 30DS Level 2 & 30 min yoga
Sun - 30DS Level 2 (for the last time thank god!) & 45 min yoga

DeriArms · 29/05/2016 13:55

Have a look at some of the channels on YouTube that do all sorts of exercise routines - FitnessBlender and YouFit are both good. Can help to mix it up a bit.

Wildernesstips · 30/05/2016 16:16

Went for a lovely walk today at a nature reserve for 1 hour 10 minutes. Not sure what possessed me, but have also started the 30 day plank challenge.

I will probably move over to the Juneathon thread midweek.

Wildernesstips · 31/05/2016 17:59

25 minutes on Wii Personal Trainer. I have just invested in the 2nd disc which includes more abdominal workouts.
