running every morning?

Does anyone run a few miles each morning? Or every other morning? I've got young kids, 2 under 4. Just wondered if this was doable?

I used to and will do so again, normally every other weekday. My kids are a bit older but still can't be left so I have to be back by the time DH leaves for work at 7. So I make sure to leave at 6-ish, that gives enough time for a run and a shower. If you accept that it will be dark for a while yet, and colder (a distinct advantage at the height of summer) then it's perfectly do-able if you have lit roads/paths. I do prefer it in the summer when I can go off-piste / back in the fields, but don't mind the dark (safe residential roads).

Depends on your running history. Are you a seasoned runner ?
Daily running takes a toll on your body and most people need days off.
I have done a running streak of 24 days ( advent running , 30 minutes a day minimum) and 1) it made me do some very easy paced running as I knew I wouldn't keep it up otherwise 2) it made me realise you can fit in a short run daily if you must 3) it yielded great improvements in my race times to my complete surprise.
I am also lucky in that I am not injury prone.

Yes I think daily might be too much.
I've done a half marathon 7 years ago and had massive ITB (?) problems. Back on it now, but have only done up to 3 miles. I will never go further than a 10k due to injury. I'm thinking every other day roughly, Sunday, Wednesday, Friday.? Mmm with young kids I'm quite knackered but I'm also desperate for that time on my own to clear the mind.

I used to! I loved it. Used to get up at 6, throw my running gear on and off I went. Dh leaves for work at 7. Was lovely on bright sunny mornings. Really felt like I'd achieved something.

My ds was pre school. Now kids are school age and dh still leaves at 7am it's very difficult. I'm more exhausted, time poor and out of practice. I'd love to start up again once my youngest is at nursery.

What sort of distances did you do?

Guess depends if you have that time in the morning? And only you will know if that's your best time to go running. I love running but wouldn't want to commit to going every day. I'd prefer to juggle it up a bit with long run at weekend and a swim or yoga for variety instead and would have to barter the time with dh ha ha. But yeh if you used to run every day and you have the time go for it!! My preferred time to run is the morning. I'm useless in the evening. But dh usually out door by 7am. So try to do that 2x week.
