Should I feel like this 24 hours later?

Disclaimer: I'm not fit. I walk (a bit) but have struggled in the past to do even week 1 of C25K.

Anyway .... yesterday I did a piddly little fun run with DS. I ran the first 200m, then stopped to get my breath. Told you I'm not fit. At this point it was hurting to breathe and I didn't feel like I could get air properly deep into my lungs.

I ran for VERY short distances over the finish line a couple more times over the course - had a couple of bottles of water, fruit, a hot dog over the next hour or so.

Today, I feel a bit weird, in my lungs I think. Now, I KNOW I'm not fit, but surely this takes the piss? Does it sound like exercise-induced asthma? I'm embarrassed and worried in equal measures.

Disclaimer: I have no medical expertise whatsoever! But I dont know whether you should feel like that today. I mean after a run I can feel quite wheezy but it doesnt last long (minutes not hours) and not the next day, I might have muscle weakness/stiffness the next day but my lungs etc recover.
Have you had asthma in the past? Might be worth getting checked out - I dont know.

No, no diagnosed asthma, but I do now remember feeling similar after Martin arts sparring sessions a couple of years ago.

when were you last tested for asthma? I will get an asthmatic reading sometimes and that's the time to go to the doctor. Different things will bring it on - if I'm out in temps lower than 5 degrees, that brings it on for me.

don't be embarrassed, just go to the doc.

I feel like rubbish for a few days after I go running for first time in ages.
What you're describing sounds mild to me & I would merely proceed cautiously without thinking there was any point in seeing a doc.

Never been tested for asthma before, but have just made an appt with the asthma nurse tomorrow afternoon, so will see what she says.

Unexpectedly low reading of 320 on the peak flow meter, so I'm going back next week to do more tests.
