Shine Walk questions

I'm doing the Shine Walk in September. I have a few questions for people who have done it before.

  1. What should I carry? I was thinking water, snacks (not sure what), a spare pair of trainers and socks incase my feet hurt, money and phone. Oh and a waterproof.
  2. I haven't been able to train at night as my town is dodgy. Is this a problem?
  3. I'm only at 10 miles so far. Will I be ok? Obviously I'll train to get further but I'm not sure I'll get to 26.
  4. I'm only at 19-22 minute mile pace. Is that ok?

Thank you.

Right, signed up to this.
Never done anything more than 5Ks before.
Haven't trained.
Health issues (?????) Back pain, tiredness, been referred to Rheumatology.
I could go on listing reasons why I shouldn't do it but deep down still want to go for it.

Opinions please? Is it achievable with no real training?

I'm also doing shine walk this year, my question is; I'm likely to finish around 3am, where do people go to when they've finished? Trains won't be running and my earliest train out of London isn't till 8am. Thanks

Hev02 - What time is your start? Are you doing the half or full? If doing the full you're not likely to finish at 3am as you have to wait a lot at roads, loo stop etc. When I did it we finished about 5.30am I think. We sat in the hall at the end point for a bit getting hydrated and taking the weight off our feet. We then went to the taxi stand and went to a diner near my friend's house for a massive breakfast. I got the first train North out of Kings Cross.
