Fabletics- any good?

I'm after some new workout wear but feeling a bit uninspired by what's in the shops.

Fabletics keeps popping up as an advert and it looks quite nice. Seems quite expensive once you've got the first outfit but I'd just have to remember to cancel I guess (it's run a bit like those old book or cd clubs where you buy each month unless you cancel).

Has anyone used them? Is the quality good and what is the sizing like?

I was having the same thoughts but then googled the company. They charge a £44 membership fee per month once you order, if you forget to cancel! Outrageous! That really put me off. Agree that the clothes look nice though.

Yes, think I might give them a miss as reviews on trust pilot are awful. I hate that they basically hope people are stupid and forget to cancel (or don't realise they need to) so I'm not sure I want to give them my custom.

H&M activewear got good reviews on a thread on here so I might try them. Don't think I want to pay Sweaty Betty prices for stuff I'm going to sweat all over!

Tk Maxx is my fav spot for active wear. On another note I wish I had Kate hudsons body!!

EarSlaps · 16/04/2015 09:32

Ooh, hadn't thought of TK Maxx, thanks Smile. There will probably be some Fabletics stuff there soon, I don't think many people are keen on the membership fee idea!

Agree about Kate Hudson's body- I don't think Fabletics wear would give me that figure, even lots of time in the gym wouldn't cut it Grin.

If you like Sweaty Betty sign up to their newsletters so you know when the sales are. You sometimes get extra discounts too. I wouldn't pay full price anymore.

TK Maxx is fab. I got some fab running gear from an outler Asics / Nike.

I joined Fabletics and have a few things. Tbh I'm finding it better for loungewear than workout gear. The quality is nice, though not as good as SB. I love the soft bra tops with the scrappy backs with the loose, off the shoulder or cut away back tops they do. But even for yoga the soft bras aren't supportive enough for me, (32DD), they are too short in the front. The sizing in leggings/capris is smaller than SB and similar IMO, but they do go up to around 22 I think. The t shirts are a bit odd, wide in the shoulder but narrower in the body, the ones I have work because I don't mind having loose top bits (bearing in mind I'm not working out in this stuff, mostly lazing around the house), for the sake of not having fabric clinging on waist/hips but this may be annoying for others. I did wear the t shirt with the big hole (over a proper sports bra) for a workout the other day though and it was good. I often find the nicest stuff is OOS though-v annoying. You get a week (and about 2 emails to remind you) to skip a month and they don't charge you. So far I have remembered to do this but think I'm going to cancel soon, I have enough lounge wear, cool as it is Smile

I know it seems unlikely but I've seen some nice workout wear in the past couple of weeks in M&S and one of the bigger Sports Directs (USA Pro)

EarSlaps · 16/04/2015 14:21

Well I just got some nice Capri pants and a New Balance crop top (I don't need much support as I have tiny boobs and lift weights mostly so no jiggle) from tk Maxx and some very nice leggings from H&M.

Most of the H&M stuff was nice but one pair of trousers I tried on was a bit see through.

I like the USA Pro stuff too and find the quality great (Nike and Adidas felt really thin in comparison) but that's all I've had for the last year so I fancied a change.

I don't feel posh enough for Sweaty Betty and I'm a terrible cheapskate too Grin.

I am a cheap skate too but their stuff does last. I have some well used yoga pants (I have used for all sorts of things) that are about 8 years old and still going strong.

itsveryyou · 16/04/2015 14:49

It's so expensive! Their stuff looks lovely but I hear from friends that the quality isn't all that great. I get most of my stuff from Marshalls (I'm in US but it's part of TKMaxx family) as the range is always brimming with bargains in the right size for me. I love MPG capris and can get them for a quarter of the RRP.

EarSlaps · 16/04/2015 16:28

My capris say they are MPG, I'd never heard of it so I assumed it was a generic brand.

I might be tempted to buy the odd item were it not for their business model, I'm very put off by being asked to sign up to buy from them on a regular basisAngry
Even if it is easy to cancel it just makes me feel as if they are trying to hoodwink me, or there must be something wrong with their stuff or they'd just sell it in the normal way like other clothes brands.Hmm
I understand that companies like to have a 'unique selling point' but they've got one which is counterproductive!

if I want something I'll browse online across all the various brands.
I think Sweaty Betty is overpriced and some of it just looks daft!
