Wrist pain when doing clean and press in Body Pump class

In my 50s and fairly new to body pump. The total weight I have on th e bar when doing clean and press is 5kg.

Problem is I'm feeling as light spark / pop in my left wrist - its not painful; just aware of the sensation. Should I be worried about this?

I get this and when doing wide rows also. Not too much of a problem (i have spoken to my doctor about it) but maybe get a wrist support.

Ooh actually... Also br careful when doing the upright row before the press that you turn the bar and aren't flicking it.

This is one of the reasons I despise any classes the instructors have to many in a class to go around and check peoples form. This is easily corrected when individually shown. Very hard to teach people who can all be clearly at a different level

You are probably not "hipping" the bar up as you unwind from the launch and flip into the rack position, so your wrist is taking the full momentum of the twist. You need to make sure your lats are engaged, and that you hip the bar before you bend your arms to lift the bar. I'm not explaining that very well, but if you look on Youtube there should be some examples.

The Les Mills website has some good video on form and technique for each move.

You need to be shown and taught by an instructor not a you tube clip. Please people don't give I'll advice the poster could potentially do further damage to her wrist

Thanks Kato will take a look at the Les Mills site as hes the originator of the Body Pump class I do, apparently.

Have a look here for how Les Mills perform a clean and press, your instructor should also be more than willing to show you before the class starts.

Definitely talk to the instructor about this. If you're doing the latest release (Body Pump 92) it is quite hard on your wrists as there are so many clean and presses and I have really felt it.
