Just thought I would highlight this campaign for all those thinking about taking up exercise this Month.
This Girl Can
I started in Jan 2012 with running and from being totally unfit I ran a half marathon 9 months later, I did the Great North Run the following year and in 2014 I have taken up cycling and done a 60mile women sportive.
You don't need to be very fast or particularly good at what you do but it can make such a difference to just get out and do something.
I lost 2 1/2 stone in the first six months and it really has changed my life. I still have the stresses and strains that come with kids and working (albeit part time) but it is balanced by the hour or so when I think about nothing more than how quickly I can take my next breath which clears my head ready for the next challenge!
