Yoga DVD - any suggestions?

Hello,

I attend a weekly yoga class - the gentle type, with focus on breathing. I absolutely love it and not only feel really calm and refreshed afterwards, but seem - unintentionally, wasn't remotely my aim - to have dropped a couple of pounds and really toned up (esp thighs, although stomach still leaves a lot to be desired Grin).

Would love to do it at home, maybe for up to 45 minutes at a time; does anyone have any good suggestions for one I could order on amazon?

All ideas very gratefully received...

Ultimate yogi, its 12 different discs. I love it. However it is not cheap.

I wondered about the yoga DVD by the woman who does the shred. (Name escapes me!)

Personally I'd skip DVDs and do some online classes. Yogaglo.com has an amazing range of classes and is only $18 a month but with a 15 day free trial.

The beauty of it is that you won't get bored of it like you will a DVD because you can try new classes all the time. You can try more challenging ones as your practice grows and you can find classes to fit the time you have - from short 20 or 30 min classes up to 90 mins if you really want to go for it. There are a huge range of styles and teachers and you can save your favourite classes.

I sound like I'm doing a pitch for it but I really have no connection. I just think it's a brilliant site.

Ooh, blimey..12 discs?! Will look it up.. Thanks.

I have that shred dvd and it really wasn't for me - far too manic and unrelaxing..can't imagine her doing yoga but will have a look, anyway.

Thank you!!

Any more ideas very welcome as am happy to research the best one for what I want..

Yoga is great and I've been doing it on and off for years, I lost my favourite DVD but found it free on YouTube. It's Ali McGraw doing yoga in the desert, it's so calming and gentle.
Not sure if this link will work but easy to google if not. Smile

Tara Lee is great. I did her pregnancy and post-natal DVD which were fab. I now have her Elements DVDs. Each one is divided into 3 sections which last about 20 minutes so you can do them all together or as stand alone workouts. I've tried others but her's are the best and easy to get on Amazon.

I love shiva rea's dvds, most of them have a matrix so you can put together a routine of your own for the length/type of practice you want each day - there are the usual modifications for injury/newer to yoga but think they tend not to be total beginner friendly

Thanks so much to you all, will be looking on amazon today!
