Exercise wall

So ladies... Does anyone ever feel like they are hitting what I like to call 'an exercise wall'.

In the first few months of working out everything is great and progression is obvious but after that you can't see any change?

No but my coach constantly (monthly) changes either my diet or program nothing is left unturned. Every aspect is looked at on a weekly basis you have to change things otherwise eventually like you are finding you hit a brick wall and progress come to a holt.

Agree with pumpkin that you need to review your program if you're plateauing. What are your fitness goals ( be honest) and what are you currently doing to achieve them? At the most basic level, just log what you're doing and then try to exceed each time. Also, it's a journey so don't expect every change you make to yield results- often it's a case of 'suck it and see'. Sometimes surprising things work - I just started incorporating ashtanga yoga into my endurance running and Lifting schedule and it's been very beneficial. Finally if you have a very heavy training schedule make sure you're not overtraining and get enough sleep/ eat for recovery.

I'm an ex footballer (just stopped playing) and I am training to get lean. I'm already petite however I'm trying to shed fat and get ripped.

I find it really hard because I work shift work, and for anyone who works in the NHS knows how demanding work can be sometimes.

I feel completely motivated to go to the gym and have no problem getting there however I feel unmotivated in a sense as once I'm in the gym I feel bored and like there's no consistency in what I'm doing.

Would it be a good idea to seek a PT? And are they affordable?

Thanks for your replies
