How do you all deal with injuries?

I'm desperate to do more excercise and have recently started doing 30 day shred.

I have a few old injuries that have suddenly flared up namely

Sore left shoulder and left side of the neck, the pain is dull and is there almost all the time but since I've started with Jillian Michaels it's become almost unbearable. It spreads further down into my arm and back. I think it's muscular as I can feel muscle knots here and there. A few years ago I had a course of steroids in my shoulder and upper back to relax the muscle knots but seem to be back to square one again :( When the pain is bad I always have this weir urge to pop my shoulder which I think makes things worse...

My left hip and knee also give me quite a bit of pain. And I've moved onto Level 2 I've noticed that my ankle is quite sore as well.

I feel like the whole left side of my body has given up on me.

I desperately want to tone up and am really enjoying the workouts but am struggling to carry on like this.

Suggestions please as to how to sort this out. Chiropractor? Massage? Any ideas?

Sports physio.

Yes, see a physio or osteopath with sports injury experience.

Agree with physio. Also, could you change the way you excercise? Swimming is less stressful on joints( except breaststroke which is crap for knees).

Basically it could be many different things. Pain as you describe it could simply be your not warming up the muscles enough before a workout. Get a firm grid roller and get rolling your hips, back and all the parts that hurt. I use a grid roller but the best thing for shoulders is a hockey or golf ball. This will help release and lactic acid buildups too.

Physio. They'll tell you what you can and can't do, and when.. Hope it eases soon.
