Where do those of you that exercise frequently buy your gear?

I exercise nearly every day - sometimes twice. In the course of a week I can get through probably 8 sets of exercise clothes. I like to make sure if I'm doing a workout I work up a nice sweat but this does mean that my clothes don't last long. Despite always washing them the same day they often still come out smelling and I currently need to replace nearly all of my stuff.

Where do you get yours? I replace fairly often so look for cheapest breathable stuff possible. I've tried buying more expensive stuff hoping it will last longer but it just doesn't.

Agree wash at 40 with bio powder. Nothing smells here gets left for days in the basket to faster all comes out like new.

I mostly buy stuff from Start Fitness. The More Mile range in particular is pretty keenly priced.

I bought some stuff from sports direct recently which isn't bad for the money. It's karrimor, was really cheap but perfectly fine. I bought long sleeved tops and a running jacket. Think the tops were £8 each!

Normally I buy Nike or Adidas but dont really notice a difference tbh.

I like Start Fitness too and Lidl sports gear is excellent.

For the smell, you need vinegar! I keep a plant spray filled with half white vinegar and half water. Spray the smelly bits before putting it in a normal wash. Deals with my running gear, DH's work shirts and his nasty sports kit without any residual smell. I/he really notice a difference if we forget.

I just bought those reflective tights in black Suzanne Blush I love them! They are £80 on Wiggle (still not exactly a bargain but they will get worn a lot!)

Suzannewithaplan · 23/11/2014 20:24

they are very cool Sleep and I see nike have expanded the colour range! I'll try and wait till after christmas,- spent too much on fitness gear and gadgets lately Blush

TK Maxx for bottoms
Howies for merino wool tops - they never go smelly. Not as warm as they sound!!!! Brilliant for exercising.

Also bits from SoActive, Wiggle and Minx Girl.

Nike Blush

I like Under Armor for tights / gym bottoms & have a bunch of Nike technical tees from when CostCo had them on offers (still available though and wash well).

For cycling stuff, wherever has a sale (Wiggle, Evans price match or my local bike shop). I like Altura & Gore.

Also like Nike Free running shoes.

Panache sports bras are fab if you're larger of boob like me and often available for a decent price no Figleaves.

If cheap & relatively disposable preferred, TKMaxx as others have mentioned.

I do a sports specific wash with no conditioner. If stinky I have used Vanish anti-bacterial (with the green top) although more with merino stuff (Icebreaker outdoor gear) that's got stinky than actual 'gym kit'.
