Is it a bad idea to go to Pilates when I feel like this?

So I joined a gym this weekend to make use of their exercise classes. I did Kettlebells for the first time ever yesterday morning and I have achy muscles today.

Not only that I appear to be coming down with the cold that both DDs have had. I have headache and a sore throat right now. I woke up mainly feeling fine, but my sore throat and headache have come on within the last hour. I have taken something, but dont feel too great.

Im gutted to be thinking about missing out as I was really looking forward to starting to aim towards getting fit and toned. Right now Im thinking that its not the best idea to go, but I should maybe just stay in, have a bath and an early night.

What do people think? Ive never done Pilates before so not sure how hard it is and whether or not I will be able to do it.

Rule of thumb: if you are ill below the neck, fine to exercise. If you are ill above the neck, have a rest instead.

If it's your first ever Pilates class it's probably not a great idea because you won't be on top form to take in instructions - but something you're used to, at a lower rate than usual (gentle run / row / swim etc) would be fine and might help your system to feel a bit of relief...

Can you rest now & make a decision later?

I wont make any final decision until later on. Im just looking for a bit of advice really and wondering if its a good idea to still go.

If it's your first ever Pilates class it's probably not a great idea That's what I was wondering. I could always rest today and go for a light run in the morning instead of having my planned rest day tomorrow.
