Impossible task? Is there any exercise I can do?

I am looking to get fitter so I can walk for more than 5 minutes without being exhausted and red and sweaty.

Im a single parent and leave the house at 6.30 4 days a week and get home at 8 then have to put my daughter to bed. The floor boards in my flat are extremely creaky that my neighbour can hear me walking so bouncy exercise videos are out.

I already walk where ever possible and try to walk during my lunch hour but I often can not leave the building.

Can anyone help me figure out what exercise I can do in the short term? At the beginning of next year work will be moving somewhere with a gym attached so I can exercise in my lunch jour but I dont want to wait that long

I ment to say on the other 2 days I drop my daugter to breakfast club at 8 and go straight into work. The only day I have off a week is Sunday's.

Could you afford an exercise bike? Just a basic model?

That and a kettlebell and you can get ridiculously fit without disturbing the neighbours.

Exercise bikes are also fairly loud. I vote for kettle bells. Not the Julian michaels version - kettlercise is a good cardio workout I find. Despite bring pretty static.

The best way to fit exercise into a very busy working day is active commuting - walk or cycle to school/work, or even just part of the way. You say you walk wherever possible but it's always possible to walk more.

I know exercise bikes make a noise it I was thinking it wouldn't creak the floor boards?

Another saying kettlebells! Minimal bouncing around but brilliant way to get fit.

I don't know how old your daughter is but could you plan activities together for the Sunday for a half hour or so in the morning?
You running, her on a bike or scooter or running with you?

This is what I used to do. It's a hell of a drag sometimes with dc but I had company and got the dc into exercise . If they wanted to rest I did stretches. (or rested myself!)

Would the sound of an exercise bike really be that terrible for the neighbours? My mum has one that just makes a "whooshy" kind of noise. If you just did half an hour a day once you've put dd to bed it would be early enough in the evening not to cause a problem I would think. Also, do you talk to your neighbours? Could you say you're thinking of doing this, would that be an issue?

Good luck!
