Has anyone here done this? I've started it but it's hard to do every day

What were your results like?

Is it worth perservering?

I was just coming on to ask the same question after watching the commercial for it this morning!

juicychops · 05/05/2014 22:28

Hopefully someone will be here soon that has some more experience of Insanity than me!

I watched clips on YouTube, all the moves are familiar from body attack. I think doing high impact aerobics every day would definitely help to shift fat and build muscle, but I don't think the moves themselves are innovative.

Keep us posted!

Not me, but a couple of guys I do boot camp with have done it. Results are impressive, but they both emphasised how incredibly hard it is, (and these are fit guys). A word of warning - if you have any sort of old injuries or joint issues, then it's not for you. I was thinking about giving it a go, but my instructor wouldn't hear of it, (I have really bad knees).

treaclesoda · 05/05/2014 22:33

I've done Insanity. I'm already pretty fit but after my first class I was in so much muscle pain I had to lie on the sofa and take painkillers for two days. I have never experienced anything like it!

Awesome though, a real buzz.

treaclesoda · 05/05/2014 22:35

I'm not doing it every day though, that would kill me Grin

Jubelteen · 05/05/2014 22:42

DS did it last summer hols. He's very fit, but the first few sessions made him vomit! The results were very impressive. He plans to do it again as soon as exams are over.

Mitchy1nge · 05/05/2014 22:46

I loved it, and got the asylum too but it was very hard on my knees and I was doing a lot of different exercise each day when someone advised me to prioritise one thing (chose running) and my knees thanked me for it shame about the rest of my legs but insanity is great and you make progress very quickly

Imwoodword · 05/05/2014 22:47

I have done it 3 times now. It doesn't get any easier Grin

I lost 5 stone from May (when I started it) to October last year. I didn't follow the diet plan exactly, as I'm a fussy eater, but did eat healthily and clean.

I LOVE it. Recommend it to everyone, but it does take dedication just because of the length and frequency of workouts.

Loujim2 · 10/05/2014 10:05

I was doing this before I got pregnant and loved it! Can't wait to start again after ds arrives Smile

Barbie1 · 10/05/2014 10:10

Yep, me too.

Excellent results but only if you put the work in!

It's hard, but addictive!

mrspuddleduckie · 13/05/2014 11:30

I'm on Day 22 and it is slightly addictive - I'm unfit, so I just push myself as hard as I can but I can't manage anything like the men and women on the DVD! My knees are sore, but I'm pushing through. My tummy is already more toned, but my thighs have bulked up by 1cm in 2 weeks. My husband is on Day 80 or so (just started again when the 60 days were up) and he's lost a stone and a half, and looks fantastic (jealousy made me start)

showtunesgirl · 13/05/2014 11:32

From what I know, don't do it unless you are pretty fit already. You really do need to work your way up to this.

Also I keep banging on about it but do check to see if you have diastasis recti if you've had children as hardcore core exercises will only make it worse.

mrspuddleduckie · 13/05/2014 11:46

I think you can start it anytime actually - I am really really unfit. But you start with a fitness test, which you repeat every two weeks, and you just do what you can each day.

If it's too much, you take an extra break - if you can't do a block of press ups, just see if you can do one or two perfect ones etc.

I was shocked at the progress I made in just two weeks (still rubbish results compared to the general population, but good for me which means I'm going in the right direction) - so I don't think you need to build up to it, I think you can build up during it, and then after Day 60, just begin again
