Tennis Elbow.......

Has anyone had this and seen it through not resting - if so how long did it take to go?

I've had it a couple of months now - finally went to the doctors a couple of weeks ago who confirmed it was tennis elbow and said that although it would go if I don't rest it will take longer.

Rest is no option for me - I gym every day and do lots of pole fitness (which is the main culprit) - it's ok during the day as I strap it up when I exercise, it's sore in bed though and keeps me awake sometimes, I may strap it up tonight in bed to see if that helps.

I think it's quite common?? Any tips??

if you have a broken leg, and you insist on hopping on it every day, you can't expect much improvement.

I have had tennis elbow a couple of times. If you aggravate it, then, eventually, you will wish you hadn't.

not really sorry to be so blunt.

I did everrything I was told when the Doctor diagnosed mine a year ago, ie resting, icing it with a cool pack, lots of nurafen

But, I have to get in with everyday life and the slightest little thing seems to set it off again. It's been a long time having to put up with it in spite of doing my utmost to follow instructions, cut down my swimming etc

So based on my experience I would cut out your pole training for a start and see if that makes a difference. Sorry to say it but rest does seem to be the main solution.

Good luck!

Yep- rest and strapping during the day. I had it for three months in both arms- horrible. I used icing every evening (put arms in bowl of iced water for 10 mins at a time). Avoid gripping anything tight (probably means your pole). It won't get better unless you stop re-injuring it over and over again, which sounds like is happening every day. One women in my spin class has had it for 2 years and it can become chronic. I was a mad gym goer and had to stop most things except swimming kicking with a float. Miserable. Sorry.
