Yoga and sex

Can anyone tell me if my theory is totally wrong? If one is getting regular proactive (as opposed to lying back and thinking of England) is one going to be better at yoga (certainly hip opening poses)? Have always wondered if yoga instructors can make accurate assumptions about people's lives from what positions they find easier or harder. Do they secretly snigger to themselves?

Ha! My instructor must think I'm a right goer then as I'm particularily flexible.

I would imagine yoga/ pilates helps performance in the bedroom not the other way around.

Without wanting to parp my own trumpet, I've been having regular, fairly gymnastic sex since I was 16. I really reckon that's what's kept me flexible all this time! But it's not really something you can ask your classmates about, is it?
I only started yoga in my 30s and was surprised to see how inflexible some of the undergrads at my yoga class are (it's on university premises.) I had previously assumed all young'ns were naturally bendy and we all get stiffer with age but perhaps it's lack of yoga and/or boingy sexGrin.

Haha I am a yoga teacher and no there is no correlation!! Flexibility does decrease with age but you will find plenty of young people who are very inflexible it is just how they are built.

Can be improved with yoga but can't imagine even the most energetic sex makes that much difference!

Thanks for clarifying. I always feel like I've had a good hip opening and core muscle work out afterwards anywayGrin.

Pickles does regular yoga prevent the decline in flexibility as we age, or can we only reduce the rate of decline?
