Anyone do Insanity?

I couldn't sleep at 3am today & found myself somewhat mesmerised by the Insanity infomercial. It's £100 to buy so I'm after some wise words about whether it's worth the investment.
I already have (and love) a selection of Jillian Michaels DVDs but I've been a bit slack recently...and as this is the last year of my 30s (sob) plus I'm getting divorced, I want to feel good about myself.
Does anyone have the insanity collection? What's it like for getting results? Is it do-able for a busy uni-student mum? And...Would you recommend it? TIA

I have it and use it occasionally.

I don't like it half as much as Jillian. The gurning of the room full of followers is off-putting. I don't think the moves are any harder than Jillians's (in fact, there's a lot of crossover between it and Body Revolution) and all the hype about Insanity annoys me not a little. I think because it's a bloke presenting it, it's perceived to be more difficult than JM- but that could be the chip on my feminist shoulder talking. :)

That said, the stretching on Insanity is lovely. Much better than Jillian's- she always does a rather perfunctory stretch, I thought.

I prefer BBL (Brazilian Bum Lift) for something to mix up the JM vids with, but it IS hard on the knees.

Good luck with whatever you decide! And Flowers - sounds like you've had a rough time recently.

I was just coming on to post the same question, I've been tempted for a while now as it does look good.

I've got two friends who have done it/are doing it but they've used a copy so its not the full supported programme. That said its definitely made a pretty impressive difference to them so far.

I'm thinking of using January to mentally prepare since its a hard month work wise and I won't get the time in the evenings and then hopefully getting the guts to give it a go starting in Feb so if you want company I'd like a boost!

I have done Insanity as well as a large JM collection. Tis hard. Proper hard. And some of the workouts are fairly long (not all.) I got it for free and don't think I would have paid full price. If you are looking for a step up from JM then I would go for Bob Harper. There are 4 different DVDs in his Inside Out collection and he will seriously work you out - makes JM seem easy- but he is a lot less annoying than Shaun T and the DVDs combined will be a lot less than half the price.

I've done Insanity before - it is effectively split into 2 halves (with a sort of pilates week in the middle) The first half is no harder than Jillians DVD's, the 2nd half is harder mostly because the workouts are much longer - you really have to have quite a bit of time to devote to it.

I did NOT get the results I wanted from Insanity and trust me - there was no 6 pack at the end of it Sad. Also myself and dh both buggered our backs doing it (there is A LOT of work where you go from touching the ground to jumping in the air!) I had to go back to a pilates class for 3 months after doing it to sort my back out.

I have gone back to doing Jillian since!

I found Bob Harper quite irritating but thought he was harder than Shaun T. Agree he's better value. Or you could get all of Insanity online free, eg. here.
