Anyone done JM Yoga Meltdown?

Hi,
What do people think of this? I'm a big fan of her workouts but I'm looking for something a bit less hardcore to ease me back into fitness (currently 8 weeks post-partum). Will this do the job?

Oooh i'd be interested to hear some opinions on this too ...i don't generally enjoy yoga, but heard this is a bit more aerobic-y. Hope someone who has tried it comes along!

It's fun! It is, being a Jillian dvd, energetic yoga moves. Be careful though, I have done yoga for years so have a reasonable level of flexibility and experience of the moves and I did think to myself that a novice could over do it.

I reviewed it on 6w6pack thread...
Pasted it for you

Jillian yoga meltdown is mellow compared to usual JM but not at all mellow if you're used to yoga. She gets excited and forgets halfway through and shouts WHO IS YOUR DADDY NOW WHO WHO HUH HUH??? at Bashira which is hilarious. And at the end she starts to go on about open your heart and then gets fed up and says 'I'm just gonna speak English!...stretch your chest'. If you're a yoga practitioner it's anathema really - trouble is you do need previous yoga experience to follow it.

It's yoga poses including v hard non beginner ones like Crow and balance poses pumped up into cardio and strength circuits. She has you mobbing in and out of the pose then holding it. You do build up a sweat and plank push ups abound.

I do it if I've missed morning exercise.
I always forget that it's actually bloody hard work.

Thanks Trucks. Sounds like it might be a bit of a challenge at this stage!

Yep, I think Davina does a post baby workout if you can stand her. Also fast walking with babe in sling/ pram up hills and maybe booking a single physio session to show you how to protect and re-engage your core and pelvic floor plus some take-home mat/barre exercises to build core strength would be a fantastic investment post-childbirth. If you can get into habit of habitually locking core and also build stamina by walking fast with baby you can pretty much move into any exercise regime you like in a couple of months - just be aware that your joints may still be loose from pg hormone relaxin so deep stretching/lunging/yoga poses can cause issues.

Thanks for the review Trucks!

Ordered it yesterday and I can't wait Grin
The only yoga near me is bikram (or 'hot yoghurt' which is what I thought my american cousin called it), which I've tried but just couldn't get on with the heat and feeling like I was in a battery chicken shed

I'm looking forward to giving this a go :)

Thanks Trucks. Tried Davina but found it a bit tame - did one of her normal DVDs but had to take the low options with Jacqui! Been walking quite a bit and invested in the MuTu programme to sort out my core strength. Looking forward to getting back to Shred to shift the pounds!
