I want to start running c25k but need to some cheap trainers (if I keep it up I'll upgrade later)
I need to buy online as I live rurally and don't drive yet so can't get my gait analysed yet or anything (the nearest upandrunning is two hours drive away for example)
What make can't I go wrong with if I look on somewhere like eBay?

I run in asics trainers, the gel cumulus ones, and really like them.

Thanks
I'll have a look

Agree Asics a good place to start. Get half a size bigger than your normal size to compensate for feet getting hot when running.

you can do a pretty accurate foot-fall analysis by looking at the sole of a well-worn pair of shoes, then choose your shoes from there?

They seem to wear down pretty evenly. Any ideas what that means? (I've been told in the past I have pretty good posture though can tend towards slouching as am tall)

Buy some proper running socks as well - then you shouldn't get blisters, as they are thicker/more padded in the right places

if you wear your shoes evenly, look for shoes described as 'neutral'

how about your arch? is that low/medium/high? that will determine the support level you should look for in a shoe..

this might help

it's a link to the 'asics' site, so obviously recommends their shoes, but the description is very clear and accurate

Thanks both of you. Will have a look Smile
