Partial prolapse Confused advised to crack on with my pelvic floors which I'm doing like crazy.

But I'm now very paranoid about exercise. Thinking that yoga/Pilates will be the best thing but also keen to get fit. Guessing if it was really bad she would've advised me not to exercise and would be talking about surgery. Right?

Can anyone share experiences/thoughts?

Sorry, by exercise I mean something aerobic that is likely to involve a lot of jigging up and down Grin.

Have you had a referral for physio? If not that's probably your best bet for working out an appropriate exercise programme. Same boat here and worried about riding my horse, who's been out to grass all summer and is as fat as a monk in consequence so I feel your pain !

No referral which makes me think it's not all so bad? Just slightly horrified by the whole thing tbh having braved a look and now terrified it might never go back to normal.

Shamelessly bumping this as I'm hoping someone might be able to offer advice/experience?

Thx

Sounds like its not an especially bad example of the breed from what you've said but im not a medic. Best thing through would be to either ask for a physio referral- prolapses can get worse as you get older/ with subsequent pgs - or look for a specialist physio in women's health in your area and pay for a private consultation. I had a mild prolapse with DC 1 and its worse now after dc2 and I'm waiting ins referral to gynae. In the meantime the usual advice is to not lift heavy weights, try to avoid becoming constipated - and therefore straining on the loo- and to work out with the kegels. There are a bunch of different types of gismo on the market from pelvic toners to electrical exercisers. Some people have had good experiences with them but reviews are mixed. Main thing is dont panic! At 6 weeks everything is still playing musical chairs down there, your hormones are still making your ligaments soft and generally everything's a mess. It's natures way of telling you to sit down while you still can IMHO Grin

I had this and the consultant I saw said running was ok and would maybe help. But that was 10 months later.

Thank you both, really helpful.

I am quite constipated which isn't helping matters. Gp prescribed fybogel stuff and glycerine suppositories. Got the former but latter out of stock in all chemists. Also making some adjustments to diet...but still haven't been for two days an cried last time I did (sorry if tmi).

Just in a real quandary about whether exercise will help or hinder at this stage as I don't want to do any more damage. Already worried that I did too much in the first couple of weeks as I was out and about immediately. You sort of have to with a toddler to keep entertained.
