How much ate running shoes?

How much do you pay for lightweight supportive running shoes? I've found some good ones in sports direct for 30-40 pounds but is this too cheap to be good if that makes sense?

You can get decent ones on sale for £30. The important thing is that they're the right ones for your feet- I would go to a specialist running place and get a gait analysis so that you can be sure your shoes fit properly. Sports Direct is good for bargains but they don't know much about fitting running shoes they just try and flog you Karrimor ones.

You really need to try them on, but £30 will buy you as good pair of running shoes.

I always find what was last years super duper job and hunt around for bargains.

The price isn't the issue - it's the fit.
My last three pairs were from running shops - where my 'gait' was analysed. Turns out that run funny, so need support in the arches.

My current pair are identical to a previous pair, I bought them on line in the sale for £45 - first pair were £85.

If you are just starting out, and not sure if you are going to get into running then don't spend much. But once you start to increase the distances you will really notice the difference in a correctly fitted pair of shoes.

I have been running for a fair while but have been using standard Reebok trainers so I thought it was time to upgrade to some proper running trainers which fit properly and so on.

I did actually go to Sports Direct but also looked up reviews online and tried on a fair few. The girl helping me was really useful and didn't just try and flog Karimor! she even suggested looking in the kiddy section as it was cheaper and they might have more suggestion (I have size 4 feet so not that tiny but small enough to fit kids shoes)

I ended up getting some last season Nike Pegasus ones which feel comfy so far. She said they were reduced because there wasn't a choice of colours due to them being 'old', but I'm not fussy and hopefully my running will improve. They are so light compared to the trainers I had before.

Thanks for your help!
