IF I was to start Couch to 5k what kit would I need?

I don't run. I need to do more exercise. I've never run, In fact I was useless at running anything more than a (reasonably good) sprint even as a kid.

I'm thinking of trying the couch to 5k program but kit wise only have gym kit for Pilates. My trainers are more like light weight walking boots.

I'm guessing I need proper running shoes - where should I go? How much would I need to spend?

I also don't have a sports bra Blush I'm gonna need one aren't I? Again where should I go and how much would I need to spend? (I'm a 30dd btw)

TIA! :)

Sorry, not living in UK, so no advice on shopping. But those are the only two fundamentals for running which is great.

I recommend shock absorber bras and get properly fitted, please, it will make a world of difference.

I was once like you but have run semi regularly for 3 years thanks to c25k. it is absolutely brilliant. there are also regular chat threads for who is on it. quite inspiring.

I've just done wk1 run1 Smile

You will need some running shoes, mine were £20 in the sale from sports direct. They also had sports bras for about £15, also in the sale.

Some clothes to wear, but an old tshirt and leggings will be fine.

Water bottle.

Some kind of MP3 player for the podcasts.

That's about it, I think...

I know you should get properly measured for a sports bra and all that but I actually got mine in Sainsbury's for a fiver and it is brilliant. I really can't recommend it enough. Probably depends on how big of norkage you are (although I am a generous 34DD myself...).

Running shoes, on the other hand, I would always invest a bit of time and cash in to get right as it can easily lead to injury if you wear the wrong footwear (mind you, I know loads of people who run in their trainers and have no problems at all). Mine are Saucony and I got properly measured and assessed in a running shop.

Otherwise, T-shirt, leggings, good socks (my whole kit is from Sainsbury's & H&M and cost peanuts).
