IF I was to start Couch to 5k what kit would I need?

I don't run. I need to do more exercise. I've never run, In fact I was useless at running anything more than a (reasonably good) sprint even as a kid.

I'm thinking of trying the couch to 5k program but kit wise only have gym kit for Pilates. My trainers are more like light weight walking boots.

I'm guessing I need proper running shoes - where should I go? How much would I need to spend?

I also don't have a sports bra Blush I'm gonna need one aren't I? Again where should I go and how much would I need to spend? (I'm a 30dd btw)

Sorry, not living in UK, so no advice on shopping. But those are the only two fundamentals for running which is great.

I recommend shock absorber bras and get properly fitted, please, it will make a world of difference.

I was once like you but have run semi regularly for 3 years thanks to c25k. it is absolutely brilliant. there are also regular chat threads for who is on it. quite inspiring.

You will need some running shoes, mine were £20 in the sale from sports direct. They also had sports bras for about £15, also in the sale.

Some clothes to wear, but an old tshirt and leggings will be fine.

Water bottle.

Some kind of MP3 player for the podcasts.

That's about it, I think...

I know you should get properly measured for a sports bra and all that but I actually got mine in Sainsbury's for a fiver and it is brilliant. I really can't recommend it enough. Probably depends on how big of norkage you are (although I am a generous 34DD myself...).

Running shoes, on the other hand, I would always invest a bit of time and cash in to get right as it can easily lead to injury if you wear the wrong footwear (mind you, I know loads of people who run in their trainers and have no problems at all). Mine are Saucony and I got properly measured and assessed in a running shop.

Otherwise, T-shirt, leggings, good socks (my whole kit is from Sainsbury's & H&M and cost peanuts).
