Is there anything I can do to stop my chest getting achy when running in colder weather?

I've been building up running slowly to the point where I'm (almost) enjoying it.

Tonight was the first time I've been out when it's been a bit colder and I started to get an achy chest and slightly sensitive teeth from the cold - this is what put me off running at the end of last year!

I breathe in through my nose and all that but does anyone else know what I mean and is there anything I can do to prevent it? I really don't want to have an excuse for not going again!!

Good for you with the running!

I have asthma and so cold air and running were not a good combination, and I was recommended getting one of those buff things, I find a link in a mo, and run with it over my nose and mouth and I must say that did make the difference for me, even in the coldest weather. I may have looked like a highwayman, but I didn't have to give up!

There are a billion different ones, but this sorta thing

Good luck and don't give up!

Thanks Piste - the dandy highwayman look will go perfectly with the rest of my Adam Ant running gear! Cheap too - I'm sold.

Thanks for the encouragement as well - it really doesn't take too long before you notice you're able to run further so, as I said, I don't want to be put off now!
