Jogging with double buggy ?

I am restart running again after the arrival of our lovely daughter, currently 5 weeks old.

I completed C25K late 2011 but am out of shape atm, as I haven't exercised for the last four months of pregnancy till yesterday !

When school restarts, I am going to start doing a regular morning walk with my pram and two youngest children and hope to build up to jogging later on.

I am wondering how practical it would be to do some slow running/jogging with a Phil & Ted Vibe pram with a baby and toddler on board. Will my Phil & Teds pram be OK as a jogging pram ?

I hope this pram will be suitable, as it does have hand brake on push bar, air filled tyres, fixable front wheel and safety strap but it isn't a proper jogging pram...that said I won't be going that fast and only on local pavements.

Also how old does the baby have to be before I start jogging ? I know a fast walk is fine now but different sources say the baby must be 6 weeks or 6 months before I jog with them in the pram.

Is it when baby has good head control and is in a proper five point harness seat, rather than the lie flat cocoon ?

Just looking for some pointers.

TIA

I can't see a problem with the idea if you go for a gentle jog.

Head control is really the key thing if they're sitting up, if they're lieing flat then it's okay to run with them. Fast walking will be fine in anything really, and by the time you're ready for running any speed I expect they'll be old enough?

Yes, baby is lying flat for the time being.

I doubt I am/will be fit enough to do more than a brisk walk for a few weeks yet ;)

Babieseverywhere I took my Phil & Teds vibe for gentle runs w DD2 when I started running again. She was still flat in the cocoon at that point (probably 3 months or so) and it was fine. Not the lightest thing in the world for hills mind! Have you got a park you can jog round? Easier without having to cross roads etc..

Local parks are stamp sized playground, but I could drive to a bigger park. Good idea, off to google for parks near me.
