Running with faster OH?

Hi all, I've recently started on the C2 5K programme. I'm currently on W8, though on my last run I carried on for 30' instead of 28' so almost there. My DH has been running for years and is much fitter (and has longer legs!) so is much faster than me. It would be nice to go running together but I can't keep up with him and he finds it hard to run as slowly as me (plus it seems a bit pointless as he's not getting much of a workout). Are any of you in the same situation? What do you do? I guess he could kind of run back and forth or we could do some intervals runs together? Any ideas?

Ditto.

I started to run last year and have a fit DH who normally runs faster than me. But, he likes running with me and I know that he would rather we ran together than running separately. He can run at my (snails) pace. He said that if we keep running together one day he'll be as slow as me anyway Wink.

So, usually he talks and downloads about his day at work (I grunt and nod!). Sometime he wears weights on his ankles (have also seen a man running with what looks like a very weighted rucksack), sometimes he continues running when i finish so he can do more faster and further. Sometimes he runs alone.

But mostly he just likes to run with me. Grin

Forgot to say we also do fast intervals (races!) but it takes a bit of judgement to find where he needs to turn back from, to have us arrive at the 'finish' line at about the same time.

Thanks for the response, that is so sweet of your DH wanting to mainly run with you! Grin The weights and the rucksack are good ideas, I hadn't thought of that as a bit of a handicap. I'll see if he fancies it. At least now I can actually keep going for at least 30'. Last time we tried running together I had to stop and walk after just a few minutes so he used my first run as his warm up and then sprinted off.
