I havent ran since school - 20yrs ago, times in they gym (years ago now with havging babies and no time) the treadmill used to kill me after 5 mins - seemed the longest 5 mins of my life!!!

BUT - i need and want to do some excercise, have some friends that are really into it and seem addicted. Its free, i can do it in the evenings straight from home so easy to do and no major childcare issues, nights getting lighter etc...

Do I just run around the block and keep extending it - I'm sure there is much more to it that that. I'm scared at collapsing into a breathless heap after a few minutes. Am i kidding myself that I can do this. I think it would be a great challenge for me.

Will read throught the C25K threads later when I get a chance.

TIA

You are me last year. You will do it- c25k is doable and gives you a fantastic sense of achievement each week. Just stick at it- aim for 3 times a week but dont beat yourself up if you only manage twice. Do a week twice if you feel you need.

What worked best for me was that it was 40mins door to door so nothing really. Also being told to walk meant i didnt feel daft doing it iyswim.

Try and think of an aim - i had a parkrun near me- so mine was by August to do a parkrun. I did and wasnt last by any means.

Running still works well for me - i love that it is free and slots into small slots of time. I often run at 4pm on sundays for example- kids are tired and chilling , not much happening...

Make sure you go and treat yourself to dome nice running tops and bottoms - tkmaxx can be good. also make sure your

All these stories are really inspiring! I joined a running club 3 weeks ago & really enjoyed it, despite wanting to cry/vomit/pass out after less than 1km Blush It's given my gym workouts a new lease of life as well, as I want to improve my time & distance with the running club - I've always been a crosstrainer/bike/body combat gym-goer but am now getting the confidence & ability to run on a treadmill there too.

I really think you should take up running, you will love it & the way it makes you feel!
