Thinking of cancelling my gym membership? And making exercise part of everyday life!!

I have been listening to Paul mckenna's cd and I have been feeling really motivated to exercise. I have been doing my shred DVD everyday for the past 11 days and started taking my dd to the park on her bike and I have been rollerblading (first time in Over a year).

But I have really started to feel like I want to exercise and enjoy it, and incorporate it into my everyday life.

I have a big urge to start cycling to dds school and work. As I want to get fit and feel I am wasting money on petrol all the time and instead could be using my body fat as energy to get to work and back.

I have never cycled on the road before and although I feel quite envious of others that do, I also feel like I would look silly and perhaps feel scared of cars :)

Anyway just wondering what others do to fit fun exercise into their routine?

I have recently moved to somewhere where I can now walk most places with DD, so just generally doing more walking. I cycle a bit, but not as much as I did where I lived before. I thought that this would mean that I put on weight, but the more walking seems to compensate for it.

I like it that I'm not spending money too. I gave up my gym membership because it was too far away and now spend a bit of money on swimming - sometimes on my own and sometimes take DD so she can play and I can swim and then we can both do a bit of messing around together. I also run more - now the local gym is pay per go I generally decide to save a fiver and run instead - but then I always did do a lot of running.

I have never worried about looking silly cycling (or at any other time!), in fact it makes me feel smug and super-hero-ish! There are lots of courses to brush up on bike riding skills - I have read that you're safer riding "assertively" - wear bright clothing, get some good lights etc. I have been cycling to work for over 20 years (scary!) but even I get off and walk occasionally at tricky junctions.

Good luck with it!
