Waterproof walking shoes (not boots), anyone got any Brashers?

Rather like the look of these Brasher Kugas, but no stockists nearby to try them on.

I am slim of foot.

Need shoes for dog walking/camping but also something that I can go into a pub with afterwards. Goretex/Good waterproofing a must.

Anyone got walking shoes that they wear day in day out for tramping about in that make their feet happy?

I love my Merrell siren sport GTX here - they are goretex, totally comfortable from day 1 and look fine with jeans.

I am large (but elegant) of foot.

I have some leather Brasher walking boots which I have never got on with, far too stiff and still giving me blisters over 100 miles later. I choose my Merrells over the Brashers every time :-)

Snap Grin I am also large but elegant of foot applejelly

The Merrells look good too. Thanks for your reply.

I've had my beloved nubuck Brashers since my DD was born (she's a teenager now) and they have just about given up the ghost. Still comfy, but the soles have virtually no tread left. They have been amazing and I adore them. Smile

That is praise indeed mothermirth Smile

I too have an old pair of brown leather Brashers. They are awesome. I am narrow of foot and they are excellent quality and gave good grip and ankle support. The ones you have linked to are too newfangled for me.

Ok now I have read your link and not just looked at the picture. The main point I think is at the bottom of the page. Do you want proper walking boots with grip and ankle support or do you want activity shoes?

Slubberdegullion · 08/11/2011 14:36

Activity shoes. I have boots for tougher terrain but the shoes would be for everyday dog walks (when not in wellies) and wearing while camping. Also something that wouldn't look odd if I was to wear them with jeans and walk into town and have have a coffee and a cake in Marks.

I have had my Brashers for years - they are goretex and leather and they have been over the Inca Trail and up Scafell a couple of times and I've never had a single blister. I love them very much indeed

I have some Salomon walking/activity shoes and they are also v good - waterproof and no blisters
