8-2! I can't believe it! Genuinely in shock.
Why oh why has he not bought anyone? I never thought I would see the day. Is it the board or the manager.

What has happened to my team?

That's a good point... The discipline point... Suspensions and sending off left, right and centre. Are we missing our Captain already?
I've just been reading ArseBlog. Depressing, depressing.
I reckon Man U will win the premiership this season with Man C a close second. Bloody depressing.

Incidentally Cantona was a thug, as was Keane and so is Rooney... Undeniably though bloody good footballers.

I'd agree more with Keane and Rooney - Eric was more sinned against than sinning. We all saw him getting kicked regularly. The kung-fu game was amongst the worst - he complained 3 times to the ref. All of CP back 4 were at it - a tactic. Bit like George Best losing his rag.

Teams need 4 productive strikers to compete in 4 competitions, wit ha squad of 20 good players. Arsenal are woefully short in those regards, non? Getting some players back will be gud - getting some confidence back is trickier - even 'smaller' teams will think you are there for the taking.

Without a doubt... I just wish he'd take some money out of his wallet and buy. It's not just strikers, it's defenders, midfielders and goalies too (although I do have a soft spot for Szczesny). I feel very, very sorry for the young (17 year old) lad who made his debut against Man U at 8-2, that's going to take some recovering from.
And Vermaelen is awesome but he spent 95% of last season injured an he's injured again now. Replace Clichy, Fabregas and Nasri ASAP and if there's money left over... SPEND IT!

Yes Vermaelen is excellent, yet his absence was hardly taken into account and mentioned by pundits when analysing your defensive frailties last season.

I like Wenger. But he doesn't have enough flexibility in his team if his key players are injured or otherwise unavailable. He must realise that he must buy some players.

He is a stubborn sod, though, so he may not do this.

He has some good young players waiting in the wings. But I'll say it again: HE MUST BUY SOME PLAYERS.

That's it.

PrincessFiorimonde · 29/08/2011 22:11

Sorry - to actually answer the question in the OP: no, I don't think he will.

Pan · 29/08/2011 22:11

yes Princess - absolutely no evidence of a Plan B.

If silky, passing game smoothness doesn't work..he goes back to.....silky passing game smoothness.

PrincessFiorimonde · 29/08/2011 22:26

Pan, there wasn't even any silky smooth passing in that recent game.

Or, if there was, it didn't help.

Pan · 29/08/2011 22:32

yes - it was a pretty pitiful.

I think Arsene was 'Barca' before 'Barca'. To his credit. But in Spain, and just about everywhere else, talented players have more time and a bit more respect than in the Premiership. It's exciting, but not designed for Arsene's ways. We pass well, yes, but it's aimed more directly at goal.

Pan · 29/08/2011 22:54

Scott Parker - would have been a good signing. IMO.
