Just wanted to make you aware of this programme tonight.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001n3px

Question Time Special - all the audience voted Brexit and it's in Clacton which I think was the most 'Leave' area.

I will be very interested in how the audience feels now and if any have changed their minds or become more entrenched.

BBC One - Question Time, 2023, 22/06/2023

Seven years on from the Brexit vote, Fiona Bruce hosts a special edition in Clacton.

LMAO that Deadwood Redwood is the best the Tories can come up with to defend Brexshit!

The only problem is that he's too stupid to realise what a fool he'll make of himself...

Pipsquiggle · 22/06/2023 20:55

I am wondering whether they'll have a vote at the end to see if any of them would change their mind.

@HannibalHeyes agree Redwood is hardly top drawer on the Brexit side - why couldn't they get anyone better.

It's a very strange watch this evening

Kendodd · 22/06/2023 23:16

And the women who voted Leave because of safety rails on roofs ffs.

Pipsquiggle · 22/06/2023 23:19

Yep - I didn't get that at all

Oh and the racist just now who's apparently seem people coming here from abroad and immediately going down the benefits office.

Pipsquiggle · 22/06/2023 23:20

I like the academic though. He knows his stuff, particularly on the missed opportunities

My thoughts exactly

Pipsquiggle · 22/06/2023 23:24

The audience seems apathetic. Less clapping, less debating. It feels flat, which I wasn't expecting.

Remainers all got told off for saying many Brexiteers were a bit thick. I’ve seen nothing in the last 6 years and especially tonight, to make me change my mind.

I'm glad I am not the only one who had no idea what she was on about. To be honest, she didn't come across as all that bright, and I doubt she had any idea what Brexshit actually meant.

HannibalHeyes · 22/06/2023 23:26

Christ. I didn't see all of it, but it was even worse than I thought it would be.

The stupid, it burns...

KnitMePurlMe · 22/06/2023 23:29

@LizzieSiddal just said the same to dh. We get slated for calling Leave voters thick but fuck me these people aren’t helping their cause.

”I wasn’t lied to I wanted to be sovereign!” Wtf does that even mean?? I had to turn it off it was so fucking depressing 😢

endofagain · 22/06/2023 23:29

I missed QT this evening. I am quite glad tbh. I don't think my blood pressure would have coped.

DramaticBananas · 22/06/2023 23:30

It's sobering to see how dim some of them are.

Oh and the racist just now who's apparently seem people coming here from abroad and immediately going down the benefits office.

Yes, he would have had us believe that he had personally stood and watched individual people walk into the country and head straight into the benefits office. He had personally witnessed this!!

He was making it up and embellishing it. Hard to take him seriously or believe a single thing he said.

CapEBarra · 22/06/2023 23:32

I kind of felt sorry for them. They were just sort of floundering round talking nonsense and bollocks. I wonder if they were deliberately selected for being a bit thick. Surely that can’t be the best of them.,

Unfortunately, there are people Brexshitteers who are stupid enough to believe this shit...

Yes, some of them do seem to be particularly thick. Bars on the roof woman was a case in point. I'm not sure even she had a clue what she was on about.

To be fair, it's a self selecting group...

Many of the Question Time audience tonight, I would say.

Topseyt123 · 22/06/2023 23:37

To me, Alastair Campbell is the only person there talking much sense.

Rummikub · 22/06/2023 23:38

Audience member talking about world trade deals with eg America.... do they have no idea what that will entail?

And does no one do joined up thinking eg increasing trade miles and its uni at on climate change??

The whole thing makes me furious.

Pipsquiggle · 22/06/2023 23:39

Ben Habib is now just lying about N Ireland

Anand Menon was the best panelist for me.
