I agree Singing, the difference from my position as a tory voter (this time) is that I will not actively perform mental gymnastics or try to defend abhorrent speech or behaviour.

Boris has said some really shitty stuff, despite the context and it being ‘mostly’ 20+ years back. But as I have said before, I have to choose, and given that position, when I look at both situations, on one side is an arrogant and lazy set of sterotypes, trotted out with no more than the application of ignorance and old fashioned privilege, this behaviour has rightly been denounced and I truly hope a lesson has been learned, additionally an apology is required imo so Boris, how about that AN interview???.

On the other hand we have a engrained culture deliberately targeting a specific group of people, based on a set of dangerous ideologies that have resulted in the mass genocide of that same group of people in our recent history. The belief structure surrounds the main pillars of the important players, it’s rooted in marxism and hard socialist ideals and these are the foundations on which the party and their entire economic and social position for the future of the UK is being built.
