GE is on! Remainers how will you vote?

Just that really! The General Election is on, either 11th Dec or a few days before but it's going to happen now that Labour have agreed. Tactical voting websites are being prepared as we speak.

If you are a remainer, who will you vote for?

(And if any leavers lurk here, will you vote for Tories or Brexit party?)

Still astonished labour supporters are willing to vote Tory because they dislike Corbyn. Even after the last ten hideous years under them while they royally fuck over the have-nots and cut services to the bone.

ritzbiscuits · 29/10/2019 14:36

I'm a Remainer and will be voting Labour. We have a fantastic local Labour MP and supporting her is my top priority.

To me the election isn't solely about Brexit, I strongly believe in better public services for all, so it's Labour all the way. I want schools to have more support and there is more chance of Labour protecting the NHS.

FadingStar · 29/10/2019 14:37

Sinn Fein safe seat here too. My issue is that they don't take up their seats so they're powerless even though they are Remain. Love Naomi Long and would have voted Alliance except a vile, disgusting misogynist who refers to women in the most revolting ways is now affiliated with the party in my area and I'm sorry but that's my red line. So Alliance is out. SDLP maybe?🤔

rosie39forever · 29/10/2019 14:38

Can't believe so many people are saying that they can't vote for Boris or Corbyn...unless you live in their constituencies you don't vote for them..... vote for whichever local candidate you want to elect to represent you in you area Ffs

Dusty01 · 29/10/2019 14:38

"Wow, someone else pegged Boris as Machiavellian whilst I was writing.... grin ... some of us see through him."

What is there to see through? Isn't it just obvious?

JenniR29 · 29/10/2019 14:40

‘To me the election isn't solely about Brexit’

I think a lot of people have forgotten this. I’d rather vote for a party that wants to fund public services and end austerity. JC isn’t perfect and I think he’s shit the bed over Brexit but he does have the right idea when it comes to the NHS etc.

CheerfulBunny · 29/10/2019 14:42

It's so hard, isn't it? I'm a (remainer) Labour supporter usually but just can't see Corbyn as PM, he's too old, out of touch and bloody useless. I can't stand the Conservatives and believe most of them have utter contempt for the average people of this country. My Labour MP is great and I wish him well so in my mind I will be voting for HIM only. I won't feel good about it though - JC wouldn't be a much better leader than Boris, frankly. So frustrating.

drspouse · 29/10/2019 14:42

I have no idea.
Local Labour MP is a Corbynite though a Remainer personally I don't know if they would break ranks and vote for a second referendum/revoking article 50 if it came to that. Plus they can't work out what a woman is.
Lib Dems also have no idea what a woman is and can't get in here.
Green won't get in either despite being quite big locally. If it's our MEP standing though I'd be tempted as they are GC.
And I've never voted Tory and am not going to now, plus it's unlikely their candidate will be a Remainer given the local area isn't on average.

We are in a marginal Labour/Tory area. And the Tories got in before due to people voting Lib Dem or Green.

drspouse · 29/10/2019 14:44

@JenniR29 this is true but I also don't trust Labour to do anything for women, and the others I trust even less plus they won't get in.

FadingStar · 29/10/2019 14:45

Can we stop calling him 'Boris'? Johnson is not a loveable rogue who deserves only one name. He's an evil (and inept) establishment wanker.

100% this. He's a proven liar, misogynist and backstabber. It seems as though Bullingdon boys manage to get people to doff their caps even when they behave like demons. How anyone can put their trust in this duplicitous oaf is mind boggling.

prettybird · 29/10/2019 14:51

SNP - but my constituency is already SNP Smile (having been an ultra "safe" Labour seat up until 2015 Wink)

Look forward to seeing the Conservative vote collapse in Scotland Grin

Limitedsimba123 · 29/10/2019 14:53

To me this election is solely about Brexit as we are in limbo until it is resolved. Stop Brexit and it stops the bonfire of rights, US trade deal etc. I live in a safe Labour seat and would have voted Lib Dem as I don’t like Corbyn but the Brexit party are standing and we are a strong leave area so I will vote Labour as they have the best chance of keeping the Brexit party out.

TheSultanofPingu · 29/10/2019 14:55

Well of course the General Election shouldn't just be about Brexit, but it would be very naive to think it won't be. This will be a Brexit Election, nothing else.

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 29/10/2019 15:09

Brexit is the bottom of my list of priorities, far too much time, money and effort has gone into that shit storm over the last three years. I hope that it gets revoked or we have a PV but I'll settle for the Tories losing power, they are utterly toxic.

holidays987 · 29/10/2019 15:12

Always voted Labour. But won't be this time.

I'm in a Labour safe seat though so won't make any difference at all. Might as well spoil my ballot.

Genuinely feel that none of the main parties represent my views / feelings at all any more. It's very disappointing.

Parkandride · 29/10/2019 15:12

Floating voter in safe Tory seat. I'd like to vote lib dem for revoke stance, but labour come 2nd in my area.

My Tory mp does exactly as he's told but backs a deal, he is responsive and helpful on other issues so not too hideous.

reginafelangee · 29/10/2019 15:15

Why do so many people begin with 'I'm shocked at how people can consider voting x...?"

Look at the polls we are all divided and planning to vote for different parties?

Why is that shocking?

prettybird · 29/10/2019 15:18

Vicky Ford trying to smear the LibDems by saying that they didn't turn up to debate the Environment Bill last night (although Luciana Berger then corrected her, supported by the Speaker) .....and has the gall to do this in a Chamber which the vast majority of Conservatives had vacated as soon as the SNP stood up to speak Confused

Quite apart from the fact that MPs don't need to be present to listen to the debate. Indeed, they might not even listen to the debate but will dutifully troop into the Division lobbies according to their whip - as they did during the Scottish devolved matters Power Grab during which the SNP weren't even allowed to speak Confused

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 29/10/2019 15:19

I've got one of the worst right wing ultras as my MP. Our constituency is a two-way between Con and Lab, with around 6% in it so I'm voting Labour.

Bofster37 · 29/10/2019 15:20

Conservative

prettybird · 29/10/2019 15:21

Oops - wrong thread Blush

Bofster37 · 29/10/2019 15:22

I’m astonished by any woman voting for Labour or Lib Dem - like a lamb to the slaughter!

Epicwaffle · 29/10/2019 15:22

Reading these pp makes me shudder at how naive women voters can be;

Biscuit

Yes the Tories are very much the party for women.

Starlight2004 · 29/10/2019 15:26

I'm in a very safe labour seat, it was also a region which voted to leave sadly! If labour say they will go for a people's vote then I will go with them, if not then Lib Dem.
