Do you actively try to change people's opinions on Brexit?

If you meet someone (IRL or online) that disagrees with your opinions on Brexit, do you try to resolve it or do you just leave it?
I feel like the more friendly option is to just leave it but with so much overwelming evidence that Brexit will be bad I feel like I want to shout to the world that Leave is a bad idea just incase I can change one persons mind ready for any future referendums.

On here , I try to get people to compromise. My lobbying for WA didn't work so now I lobby for a border in the sea/NI as a special economic area.

No but I live in a heavily remain area and work in pharma so honestly don't meet many people who are "leavers" as far as I am aware.

I pick my battles - but generally yes. Views are pretty entrenched on either side by this stage though.

I don't think you can change someone's opinion , they are the only ones who can do that. Brexit has become like a cult though, I am not sure what could be said or happen that would make a hardcore leaver change their mind. The goalposts have moved so far in terms of expectations of Brexit over the last three years, what the benefits will actually be and how long they will take to materialise. Clever stuff.

I don't bother; no point. If I encounter leavers online or in RL I might if in the mood do a bit of gentle winding up by asking awkward questions or politely pointing out errors. I have absolutely no expectation that minds will be changed.

Up until about a year or so ago, used to have quite heated but friendly arguments over Brexit but now, anyone who mentions the B word is shut down! no one is interested... Leave area SE Cornwall.

If someone else spouted a load of positive predictions for Brexit I'd respond with "I sure hope you're right" and change the subject.

Brexit is like a cult, there's really no way to undo the brainwashing, even the unfolding disaster of a no deal Brexit will be blamed of the Europeans. The blame game propaganda machine has already started.
The tactics of Bannon, Farage and the ERG are to cause as much mayhem as possible and then seize the opportunity ( and cash) in the chaos to rebuild everything to their design. We can only hope that the Brexiteers will start to fall out with each other. I think the cracks between different factions are already starting to show.

No. But somehow it seems impossible to point out it is a bad idea. People get extremely defensive when you mention the lack of logic, the potentially horrendous outcomes and the bullshit propaganda. Also it just seems rude in a way as well. It doesn't help that we have achieved a state when political lying and tantrums are normalised, as it blatantly ignoring facts that are inconvenient.

I believe trump and Brexit are tipping points for what rich countries can get get past their electorate.

It is really fucked up. I believe thar Brexit is part of a right-wing take over. It has abused the democratic process and is still using very anti-democratic ways of going forward. Also I believe it is a symptom of a large wave of ultra capitalism that will benefit 1% (if that) of the population and fuck the rest over, while using up all the world's resources. All in front of our eyes.

I have recently (out of frustration) started interacting on Twitter - just asking questions to people spouting 'believe in the unicorn' stuff.

No but some leavers and remainers I know all hate Boris so I try use that as my in.

I think both sides can agree that the vote was a close split so to get anywhere we all need to listen to both sides. Most leavers I know don't want a no deal Brexit which gives me hope...

In my head yes definitely, but I tread so carefully that it probably comes across as if I'm not trying with most people. I wouldn't try to convince a radical but most of the people I know were pretty centrist on it and I definitely thing there is scope to make a difference there. People try to convince me too.

No. People are entitled to hold different views. Usually I would welcome a political discussion, but not in the case of Brexit - not anymore, at least.

It has become so big that you can't look directly at it. It's like a giant sun. It is so divisive and people tend to feel very strongly about it.

I find it best to change the subject. Perhaps that makes me a coward, but I've just grown so tired of it all.
