What is the point of voting if the majority vote can be ignored?

It hasn't been ignored, the Govt has spent 3 years trying to leave but has a shite deal and MPs (Remain and leave) know it, so have blocked it.

The WA is mainly a 'shit deal*' because the UK wants cake and wasn't listening at the beginning when the EU said firmly that there will be no cake.

  • It is not much of a deal, but a structured departure document of which only citizens rights, the backstop to protect the Belfast Treaty and the projected leaving bill are actually fully defined. Before any further negotiations with the EU are undertaken, the WA will have to be signed, either now, or eventually.

The EU said VERY clearly in November that if the UK is leaving at all, the WA has to be signed. The UK government can fanny around as much as it likes but the EU position is clear. No WA, No trade negotiations until it is signed.

Cottonwood
Who needs Peter Oborne (ex political correspondent) when you've got Piers Morgan. Grin Grin

"I voted Remain, and still don’t think Brexit is a good idea. However, if there were to be a second EU referendum, I would vote Leave."

What’s going on now is a disgrace:a House of Commons packed with Remainer MPs trying everything in its power to reverse the 2016 result" ... "I find this assault on our democracy far more sinister than anything that might befall us in the event of a no-deal departure from Europe" ...

Apologies Mr Oborne - former chief political commentator of The Daily Telegraph - from which he resigned in early 2015.

See i understand someone voting remain and then decided leave is best and changing their mind. Or those who believe that leave under a deal is a necessary evil/best for the country

I don't understand those that now say they would now vote leave

A) because the EU are being mean

B) because democracy
