I would like to know, whether you were a remain or leave voter how you would like to see the UK government proceed now we have declared Brexit. I am not really interested in whether you wanted to leave or not. What foreign and domestic policies do you think might help the UK now we are leaving that perhaps we couldn't do before?

I am not wanting to hear - rejoin the EU. Simply because I don't think we'd ever be invited back again. Also I think it's time to look forward, dust ourselves down, take stock of this new situation and try to make the best of it.

I would to see the rights of 3 million EU citizens living in the UK safeguarded.

I would also like to see environmental protections and workers rights protected but I won't hold my breath on that.

I agree with you ghost. I would like to see us invest more in science and engineering.

I don't like the threat of withholding intelligence either, we are going to have to co-operate for mutual benefit.

I would like to see an EEA arrangement negotiated as quickly as possible, before jobs go.

I would like the border situation between Ireland and N.Ireland sorted. Not just vague promises of no return to the past (which involved the British Army blowing up border roads) and no 'hard' border whatever that may or may not mean.
As for the rest of it, I honestly don't care anymore. The complete lack of regard for NI shown by the majority of (mainland) British people plays directly to old stereotyped views I have tried hard to grow out of.

Can I say £350 million a week for the NHS?

I would like reassurance that data protection laws will be maintained. This is pretty crucial if you want to run clinical trials with sites outside of the uk (often necessary when running trials in rarer diseases or requiring specialist treatment). Also, in this age of the internet, I would really like reassurance that anyone that holds sensitive data about me is required to keep it secure!

Start acknowledging potential pitfalls so they can be avoided rather than jumped into.

Optimism is one thing, but being responsible in government is precisely about risk management and contingency planning.

Without proper discussion and scrutiny we increase this risk purely from the size of the number of people managing Brexit. For such a complex issue - and given the number of Government ministers who have repeatedly stated things about trade deals and WTO terms for example which are completely inaccurate and lacking in understanding, i think this a most prudent action.

Not going to happen though.

I would like to see the UK remain the UK - although I ahve to admit I wouldn't blame Scotland or NI for leaving us.

EEA would be good - I would like continued access to the single market, FOM, city passport, customs union, intelligence sharing, science/ technology/ academic/ medical research collaboration and for the environmental and working directives to remain in place.

I would also like to see the EU grants to places like Cornwall, Wales etc matched by our govt - after all they were promised this before the referendum - in a letter signed by leave campaigning MPs and Ministers. I believe those MPs should be held to account for this disastrous lie. They had no right to make that promise.

I would like to see some honesty about the situation we are in and gov accepting there is likely to vpbe a drop in affluence.

I would like to see pledges and promises in the campaign honoured and people held to account if they are not. Otherwise we can never have a serious polictical campaign for anything again, no words in a campaign will mean anything.

Woodlander - no one has said Cornwall or Wales aren't going to get subsidies and again the leave campaign had nothing to do with the government. So can not be held to account.

Yes they have corcory - cornwall has been told to expect a small proportion of what they would've got from the EU. Those MPs and ministers signed a pledge before the referendum to match EU subsidies - a promise that they had no right to make. The govt has already back-pedalled on it.

IMO this is only true up to a point. Johnson was photographed in front of promises of "£350 million a week goes to the EU. Let's spend this on the NHS." He is now in Government, therefore he could and should be held to account. I want to see the supposed commitment to the Health Service made good. At the same time, and I don't see it happening, there needs to be a proper debate as to what sort of health service we both want and need and how best to pay for it. With, dare I say it, an examination of how health care systems in e.g. Germany function. Instead we get the drift to a privatised American system, which is not efficient and ought to be resisted.

Secondly, there needs to be a way of honouring the Good Friday Agreement and full attention given to Northern Ireland, and not just when May or other PMs want to gain a few DUP votes to shore up a precarious majority. The GFA was hard won by many people including Major, Blair and a few others - my feeling is that it's almost criminal to squander this virtually by accident. There is a crisis currently in N Ireland, with the possibility of direct rule - where is May in this? No where. Which makes a mockery of her fine words about the UK being united. It most clearly isn't.

I don't see why ministers can't be held to account individually for the claims they made. They exploited their position to get people to believe them and there must be consequences. I don't care if the Leave campaign was separate from the government. If individuals involved are in government then they must stand by their promises.

I can't believe people think it's ok for politicians to lie and not be held accountable. You wouldn't have it from anyone else, so why can politicians do it?

• MPs who argued for Brexit and are now part of May's cabinet should start arguing strongly and vociferously to ensure that 'pledges' they made (lies they told) are followed through. They should start with committing money to the NHS with immediate effect.
• A full costing of Brexit should be done (negotiators, admin, legal costs etc) and presented to the public as a matter of urgency, and the government should be held to a stated budget. Remember, we are only just out of 'austerity' and lack of money has been used as an excuse for cutting all sorts of services. The public deserves to know what Brexit will cost in financial terms. I'm not talking about potential losses to our economy further down the line, as I accept these are difficult to ascertain at present; I'm talking about costs that are directly associated with the process of leaving. We are given estimates of costs for things like power stations and HS2; we need to know the cost of this 'project' too.
• Assurances given to EU citizens in the UK that there will be no change in their status.
• No hard border between NI and Ireland.

The best possible deal on all fronts. This will require immediate replacement of the clowns currently in charge of the various departments involved including David Davis, Liam Fox etc who act like thick rabid donkeys. Replacement of May by a real uniter who acts for the best of the whole country not a pack of rabid donkeys (see above)

Yes yes to an investigation of the leave campaign also looking in depth at the role of the media. This is crucial so they do.not interference with the EU negotiations with more lies. Who was paying them?

Protection of the Union. All sides being part of the negotiations. Being treated like the adults they are by the government

Acknowledgement of the bloody risks. The fiscale and non fiscal. The holes in all government and regional budgets that will NOT be filled. The risks to our education sector, science, NHS, farming etc of fuding cuts, reduction in works and brain drain

Oh and the fundlemental acknowledgement from the British people that we are not superior in any way. This shift in our collective mentality has to happen.

That's just week one. This shower won't manage that in 2 years. And they won't negoitate. They aren't capable

I agree with you all, basically. I'm most keen on

• those involved in e.g. the NHS claim being held to account
• WTF is going to happen with the Irish border

bolshy my understanding is that we have already given the commitments on data protection. The UK will be achieving compliance with the new EU data protection directive by the deadline (may 18) whatever happens to brexit, and the ICO has said that the UK will inevitably continue compliance with the directive post Brexit, as it is a condition of being able to trade with any member state (and for other member states to be allowed to let UK-based entities process the data of their citizens in the UK under EU law, whether or not we are a member state).

I would like to see a huge movement to defend and even improve workers' rights and environmental regulation. I'd like to see EU citizens' right to remain confirmed without any room for doubt. I'd like to see a serious housebuilding programme, which is achieved by nationalising tracts of land at agricultural prices and building on these. And some serious efforts to tax the wealthy in order to reduce the widening inequality we are facing.

The 2014 Scottish independence referendum was fought by the No campaign who told us that remaining in U.K is only way to guarantee EU membership.

Scotland voted to remain in the EU so our Parliaments vote to have a new referendum on independence when terms of Brexit are known should be respected & section 30 granted.

I am beyond furious that my EU membership will be taken from me, my partner & children are from another EU country and there is no guarantee that their rights will be protected.

So many deprived areas & communities are helped by EU funding here, not to mention farming subsidies etc.

It's an embarrassing fucking shambles, no one has any idea what to do now with regard negotiating etc.

And using the thread of removing security & terror assistance as a probable bargaining tool is utterly disgusting.
