If you follow the link above then scroll down to the bottom of the page you can put your postcode in and find out how the voting went in your area. I'm in west Kent and I'm rather heartened to see my town was 45% leave to 55% remain.

Don't need the link... :) I was counting votes, with tense Observers hovering eagle-eyed (eek).
So I got to hear the result live. About what I expected. 58% Leave.
Rural England, UKIP heartland.

It's the votes with no mark at all that confuse me. How does that happen? I could understand protest-spoiled ballots.

Hammersmith and Fulham: 70% Remain! Shock

56.1% leave 77.2% turnout
I'm surprised so many voted in (as I did) as it was very visually and vocally out

in my county, 50.23% voted leave,

Report
Littlebean13 · 25/06/2016 10:38

68.3% voted leave Blush
From results listed in favour of leave my area came 19 out of 399.
I always knew the vote from my area would highly lean towards leave unfortunately 🙁

I'm in one of the 5 London Boroughs that voted to Leave. It's a shame but we are on the fringe of London and contain very wealthy Tory / UKIP areas and very deprived Working Class areas so it's not that surprising.

Remain 56%. I don't know a single person who voted leave.

If they did, they probably won't admit it. This is a hugely EU-oriented area.

I live in one area and work in two others (affluent SE). All voted remain. Which makes me feel slightly better even though I know it makes no difference.

67.6% leave with 71% turn out. The result didn't surprise me at all.

61.7% remain on a 73.1% turn out in Bristol. The national result is not in our name Sad

In Scotland. 59% remain.

I wonder why the whole of Scotland was remain. It's nothing to do with the Snp influence for myself, family or friends. We were no voters and iv never voted SNP.

Leave but my home city voted to remain - they've received millions in EU funding since the early 90's. I feel very sorry for my home city.

64%. Remain, I'm in Scotland too. I don't want the instability of another indyref yet but I think its inevitable.

Wrexham was 59% leave.

Not all leavers are racist etc but wrexham is unashamedly racist and xenophobic, so no real surprise.

In Wales the areas with the highest immigration (Cardiff, Gwynedd, Ceredigion) voted remain.

I'm not going to out myself by saying where I am but we live in a very rural area and it's no surprise that the proportion of people voting leave was very high. There is so much hated towards foreigners in our area, no one thinks twice about moaning about immigration and so on. As someone who moved him from London and has always been very left wing it's been very eye opening to see how far from liberal many people are.

Good ol' Norwich with our remain vote! Just a shame it wasn't enough really.

London borough here, leave was 62.4% which really didn't surprise me. Leave was the general mood for months before the vote.

My county voted remain. I was not one of them.

Report
pigsinmud · 25/06/2016 11:51

53% remain in my area. Most people I know voted remain.
I'm so fed up at the moment. I really thought Remain would win through. For weeks I've said we shouldn't even have been given this choice. I hear some Leavers being interviewed and I feel like I don't belong in this country.

Remain 66%, leave 33%. I accept the national result but am very disappointed and worried.
