...it's The Ecologist. So well-informed, packed with articles that will make you think and change the way you think/shop/live. I can't recopmmend it enough.

Do you recycle it when you've finished reading it?

Do they have a website that I could look at?

TooTicky · 14/09/2006 11:52

I'm thinking I'll pass it on.
here's the website

TT just had a wee look at the website, it does look very good.

bran · 14/09/2006 12:02

They do a digital subscription too, which would be more useful to me I think as physical magazines tend to disappear, unread, under piles of stuff in my house.

TooTicky · 14/09/2006 14:43

I've just finished the July/August issue (I don't get much reading time during the day and can't process information at bedtime) and there are some very interesting (scary!) facts about waste incineration and fabric softeners, a fascinating article about a true scavenger who even eats roadkill and some truly inspiring stuff about composting in Hackney.

moondog · 14/09/2006 18:32

Yes,it's great.
I did a link to a wonderful article (about the damage that bottle feeding does) from it a while back.

fullmoonfiend · 14/09/2006 18:35

if anyone fancies re-cycling by passing on old copies to me, I'd be glad to help save the planet?

moondog · 14/09/2006 18:37

Online for free now I think...

thanks Moony. Think I'll look out for a paper copy, I need real things to read, can't do online - can't read it in the bath or in bed
(though I appreciate online is prob more eco-friendly)

TooTicky · 14/09/2006 19:04

fullmoonfiend, you can have mine when I've finished with them - perhaps you could pass them on to somebody else afterwards, who may pass them on again...
email me at azroc at pingu7 dot fslife dot co dot uk and I'll find out what postage is likely to cost

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 14/09/2006 19:10

you're very kind tooticky - will deffo pass them on. I know I was dropping huge hints, but are you sure you wouldn't want to keep them?
May ask dh for subscription for xmas if I like it!

Anyway will email you at weekend, thanks

TooTicky · 14/09/2006 19:13

No point in keepimg them - they'd just end up in a pile. I used to hoard BBC wildlife magazines, then decided it was getting silly and put them in the recycling box, from where ds1 rescued them and now they are in a pile in his bedroom.

I know what you mean fmf. Can't read owt online (apart from MN...)

Turquoise · 14/09/2006 20:10

I love it - Zac Goldsmith for PM I say. I so hope that David Cameron actually listens to him rather than having him on board for pr purposes.

I looked for this everywhere in town today and couldn't find it! So Fullmoonfiend/TooTicky, I would love you to pass on any old copies to me when you've finished. I will happily forward it on to the next taker/pay for postage

TooTicky · 17/09/2006 09:14

Cool!

FrannyandZooey · 17/09/2006 09:23

I would also love to be on the recycling circle for this magazine, and would be happy to post on to the next person. A friend gave me a few old copies a while ago and I enjoyed the articles very much.

Jimjams2 · 17/09/2006 09:39

our local independent bookshop stocks this. Sometimes I buy it -sometimes I buy permaculture or eco-house building or something (they have lots of environmental magazine, political ones too but they don't appeal). Last time I bought erm ethical consumer I think it was called. That was quite good as well. Bit cheaper as well iirc.

Jimjams2 · 17/09/2006 09:40

ethical consumer am about to explore the shop, someone keep me away.....

Jimjams2 · 17/09/2006 09:41

oh that's alright its not a shop, its a guiide.
