How can DM visit DF if stops driving?

DM is in the early/middle stages of dementia. Waiting for a memory clinic appt. Sibling and I feel it's time she stopped driving. She currently visits DF in his care home (Alzheimer's) every day. It's local but too far for her to walk or bus. Has anyone been in this position? We thought about getting a carer to order her taxis each day but it's hard to get them at the right time in the morning (she's in assisted living). We don't want to take this on every day ourselves. Just wondering if we're missing an obvious solution.

Please reapply for AA and ask the Dementia society or Age UK to help you complete the form.

The Carers Link I mentioned also will look at carer funding either for a family member caring for your mum, or your mum for your dad (or both actually)

Basically means you get some allocated money for caring support. This could be used to pay for a carer to take your mum, even if the cost only covers 1/2 days per week it is worth a look. Might be area dependent but worth a try

Lots of good suggestions here but overwhelming too.

I have heard that some councils that offer a free elderly bus pass, you can stop the bus pass & have a certain amount of taxis instead.

You wod need to contact your council
