Mum has moved back into the retirement flat she sold. We pulled out of the move when she decided she actually wanted to go back and there was no better option. She sold and moved originally after THREE YEARS talking about it. It nearly killed me pulling out of the sale, there was so much distress from the buyer.

She has been in the flat for literally 5 hours and has started talking about moving again. I was fairly brisk and said we'd do our best to make life good where she is.

I CANT DO THIS. and there is no way out. I can't do any of this.

Yes Mum has stared reading out signs when she's in the car. Tbh it's quite benign in her case, though dull.

If I could eliminate rightmove, I would. I am certainly making zero effort to get her WiFi connected.

I feel quite lucky that mine has forgotten how to use a laptop. In the end she'd struggle to get into her bank account then have to wait for an access code through the post. After half a dozen times I suggested she change to the same bank as me. She was happy with that. Intermittently she'll announce she wants to change back. I tell her it's not happening because it's much easier the way things are and she forgets about it for a while. Every now and again she'll snap and say something like "Oh yes, easier for you no doubt!" which used to be hurtful but washes over me these days. It's not really her after all.

@334bu

My mum kept changing the curtains. I borrowed her step ladder and kept forgetting to bring it back. Oddly enough when we eventually had to empty the house , apart from the curtains actually up , we could only find single curtains and no pairs.
I wonder where the others went! 😮

Mine put a heater too near some curtains and they melted. I was closing them and there were big holes in them! When I asked her why there were holes in the curtains she replied, "Oh I was hoping you wouldn't notice that." 😂😂😂

Oh sign reading in the car yes!! We have a running commentary on signs and she also points out people walking along the street and tells me what they are thinking. Evidently a man on the seafront last week was thinking 'I wish,I wish'. There's a lot of folding up of paper hankies as well.
